Materials Specialist – Noblesville, Indiana

DISHER is currently partnering with a world leader in CNC machine manufacturing in Noblesville, Indiana to fill their Materials Specialist role on the team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining effective customer support through overseeing the material flow and availability of material for internal projects. You will work cross functionally with the project managers and applications engineers to ensure materials are purchased on time and in accordance to the customers needs.

What you will get to do:


  • Identify document and adhere to all processes performed, and interface with other departments
  • Utilizes ERP system for monitoring and maintaining project items, monitor service notifications and obtaining quotes and purchasing items
  • Optimize the project related item return process
  • Oversee daily activities of Purchasing Clerk
  • Develop and conduct training for all new team members in Purchasing
  • Conduct vendor audits
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for Purchasing Department
  • Adhere to established guidelines and requirements for supplier relationships and audits
  • Support the development of and help to maintain the annual budget and KPI’s for the department




What will make you successful:


  • 4+ years experience in purchasing department
  • Experience in manufacturing environment where purchasing skills were essential to the overall operation of the organization
  • Proficient in SAP
  • Exposure to project management ideas/practices- able to develop project plans and coordinate the plan
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Self-driven and able to take initiative
  • Bachelors degree in operations, purchasing, management, business administration or other related field preferred
