Ohio Department of Public Safety - Director's Office (LEI Outreach & Collaboration Coordinator)
Report In Location: 1970 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
(CURRENTLY HYBRID ELIGIBLE) Will report into office 4 days a week and telework 1 day a week. This position will likely be going out in the field to work with agencies (May be subject to change)
THIS POSITION IS CLASSIFIED AS A PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR 2
Education
Serves as coordinator & technical advisor for statewide outreach & collaboration activities pertaining to all Law Enforcement Initiatives (LEI) Programs (i.e., State of Ohio Law Enforcement Virtual Exchange (SOLVE), eWarrants, Law Enforcement Recruitment, First Responder Wellness, Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO), & Drug Resilience Education Awareness Mentorship (DREAM)):
Plans, develops & organizes all outreach & collaboration activities, goals & objectives; Provides outreach support to first responder agencies;
Prepares & disseminates outreach materials, program information, manuals, brochures, & support tools to program participants;
Develops & maintains relationships with first responder agencies, partner organizations, government officials & community members;
Independently answers complex &/or confidential inquiries; Responds to programmatic issues &/or needs of staff or participating partners;
Conducts needs assessment on program areas by collecting & analyzing feedback from first responder agencies; Advises LEI Director or program administrators of observations, conclusions & program recommendations;
Formulates & implements new policies, procedures &/or other pertinent documents; Reviews &/or modifies existing program policies or procedures; Provides recommendations & technical advice to aid administrators in decision making;
Utilizes state vehicle to travel throughout the state to conduct, attend or participate in outreach opportunities;
Represents the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS), LEI Director, &/or other Administrators at meetings, conferences &/or speaking engagements with state, federal & community agencies; Speaks on behalf of LEI Director on program matters;
Contacts first responder agencies to encourage workgroup participation; Maintains statewide roster & contact information for all LEI programs & initiatives;
Assists with meeting & event planning for all LEI program areas;
Drafts & submits correspondence, reports, bulletins, &/or evaluations to leadership & partners in Ohio's public safety communities;
Assist with maintaining resources for LEI program areas & initiatives;
Provides support to other law enforcement initiatives & programs;
Researches & responds to routine & non-routine correspondence, inquiries &/or complaints from the general public, government officials, administrators &/or other staff; Provides program & policy information &/or presentations to public/private organizations;
Performs other duties as assigned.
4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.
Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.
Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.
Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above
POSITION SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Driver's License Required
Please Note Assigned Program Area: Completion of an undergraduate core program in Criminal Justice, Political Science, Public Safety, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Administration, or other related field.
