National Leader in Remedial Construction and Environmental Dredging
About us
Sevenson Environmental Services, Inc. provides a comprehensive range of services for the cleanup of sites and facilities contaminated by hazardous materials. Sevenson entered the environmental cleanup business in 1979 when it was selected as the principal contractor for remediation work at the Love Canal Superfund site in Niagara Falls, New York. Today, under the leadership of The Elia Family, Sevenson Environmental is one of the America's Leading Environmental Remediation Contractors with over 1,500 projects completed - including 151 sites on the US Environmental Protection Agency's NPL Superfund list - with a combined value of over $6.5 billion. Sevenson's customers include major industrial companies and federal and state agencies. Sevenson provides services throughout the continental United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Roots go back to 1917. In that year, Albert Elia, a Niagara Falls, New York architect, began a general construction business. In the 1940's, Elia's four sons joined the business and incorporated it as the Albert Elia Building Company, Inc. In the early 1950's it expanded into industrial, institutional and heavy civil construction work. Eventually the Albert Elia Building Company, Inc. grew into one of New York State's largest general contractors. Sevenson has been in business for over 100 years, and not only are we a 3rd generation family run business, we have many families working here that are multi-generational as well!

Turning a hazardous area into a community haven! We teamed up with Sevenson Environmental Services Inc. to transform a once-contaminated creek in Stratford, Connecticut to a thriving #ecosystem. Our team of #ecologists and landscape #architects implemented natural design plans, using innovative techniques like coir logs and native seeding to restore the creek's beauty and stability. Now, this revitalized area provides both #ecological benefits and a serene space for the community to enjoy. https://lnkd.in/d7V7J663

This week Sevenson Environmental participated in the 2024 NCSW Environmental Field Day at Royalton Ravine Park in Gasport, NY! The 300+ 3rd-5th graders had the opportunity to visit 30 different stations to learn about a variety of important environmental topics from the companies & agencies that participated. Brian Shanahan & Nicholas Tomkins discussed the various ways that Sevenson Environmental helps the environment by cleaning up contaminated sites all over the country and even some sites in our own WNY backyard. The kiddos loved seeing the pictures of our equipment and had some great questions for us. Some even took our business cards and said they want to one day work with us to help cleanup our country! Thank you to Katie Pfeifer and the Niagara County Soil and Water Conservation District for putting on this awesome event! #EnvironmentalEducation #FieldDay #EnvironmentalRemediation

Sevenson’s Raymark Superfund Site Project Team was honored to host the EPA’s New England Regional Administrator David W. Cash, along with members of the Connecticut Congressional delegation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the Mayor of Stratford, and local community members to highlight the significant progress made at the Raymark Industries, Inc. Superfund Site under funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The officials took a tour of the remediated properties to view the progress and participated in a roundtable conversation with local community members to discuss the positive impacts that the cleanup has had on the town. They also conducted a ceremonial removal of a Public Health Advisory sign which had been posted decades ago to warn against exposure to Raymark contamination in the upstream portion of Ferry Creek but is no longer needed now that this portion of the creek has been cleaned up. "This unprecedented funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has allowed EPA and its partners to deliver on our promise to protect the community from legacy contamination, as well as cleanup and restore land for reuse in Stratford," said EPA New England Regional Administrator David W. Cash. "Though there's still a long road ahead of us, we're looking forward to continuing full steam ahead, restoring additional properties and bringing the Raymark cleanup to completion." Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding for the Stratford, Connecticut site propelled the cleanup forward, thus far EPA and its partners have been able to complete the following activities: More than 100,000 cubic yards of contamination excavated and removed; 28 properties cleaned up and restored, including 12 active businesses; 1/3 of a mile of Ferry Creek cleaned up and working to restore the natural habitat by planting over an acre of wetland seed, live stakes, and nearly 1,000 trees and shrubs; More than 10,000 air samples collected from 9 monitoring stations to confirm the air remained safe; Provided 30 to 50 jobs each workday including engineers, scientists, machine operators, laborers and truck drivers. Thank you to all of our partners for continuing to make this a safe and successful project! #EnvironmentalRemediation #SafetyFirst https://lnkd.in/e_5GYCNd
