Since then, we have successfully written and driven the passage of 3 federal laws under 3 administrations. And our SAVE Promise Clubs are now the largest student-led anti-violence organization in America. About us
Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to end school shootings and create a culture change that prevents violence and other harmful acts that hurt children. Through its life-saving, evidence-informed “Know the Signs” prevention programs, SHP educates and empowers youth and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others. Through nonpartisan policy and partnerships, SHP advances gun safety, youth mental health, and violence prevention education at the state and federal levels that protect all children from gun violence in their schools, homes, and communities. SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. Make the Promise at www.sandyhookpromise.org.

Mark Barden reflects on the emotions that come with each new gun violence tragedy: 'There’s this range of public outcry that we continue to live through—sympathy, empathy, outrage, anger, sadness, horror, fear, and then conjecture.' This sentiment rings true once again after the rally shooting in Pennsylvania on Saturday. #SandyHookPromise #KnowTheSigns #EndGunViolence

Join us in our bipartisan mission to #EndGunViolence. Sandy Hook Promise's Know the Signs programs, supported across party lines, are expanding nationwide, making schools safer and saving lives. “Nothing that we do results in taking away somebody's rights to own a firearm, everything we do is consistent with responsible gun acquisition, storage, use and ownership,” - Mark Barden, co-founder and co-CEO of Sandy Hook Promise and mother of Daniel, who was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. #SandyHookPromise #ProtectOurKids
