This week on Automate It, Stefan and Ilia invent a humanoid robot for predictive home maintenance. Then, they break down why building vertical robotics companies isn't as straightforward as it might seem. Listen now on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gyuJY2mf Apple podcasts: https://lnkd.in/gpb29FaJ

So now that you have the radar tracks coming out of your ARS408 driver, what can you do with it? Using Polymath Robotics's new open sourced radar layer found here: https://lnkd.in/gai-Djqu, you can populate a costmap! This layer to designed as a plugin for Open Navigation LLC's nav2_costmap_2d and allows you to either simply stamp the radar track with its associated size as a lethal cost into the costmap, or apply some probability magic which is outlined in the README. Check it out!

Bring on the radars
For any ROS2 folks using multiple Continental ARS408 Radars on a single CAN line, Polymath Robotics is developing and maintaining our own that is capable of multiple radars, based on a version by Autoware. We've open source it here: https://lnkd.in/g9SCz87i, as of today. Check it out!

Today a cool thing is happening, Polymath Robotics and BIA5 are demoing Polymath’s autonomy on a BIA5 Titan in Brisbane, Australia to some of the worlds best roboticists at CSIRO. But what’s cool isn’t just that we’re demoing autonomy on a super rugged AGV platform…it’s that I’m sitting on a couch playing scrabble in upstate New York. The test engineer? He’s watching from San Francisco. Not only did no one spend the last two weeks in field prepping for the demo, no one on our team has ever seen the robot in person. Full autonomy bring up, validation and testing has all happened remotely; in part because 99% of the code on the Titan is the same as every other vehicle in our fleet. Which is what happens when you build robotics like software products, and not R&D projects. Come build the future of robots with us! #robotics #autonomy #ai

Check out our CEO Stefan Seltz-Axmacher on the inaugural episode of the The Intelligent Miner podcast! Thanks Carly Leonida for having us.

Being able to listen to my interviews was high up the wish list for readers when I surveyed you all last year, so here it is - the first true episode of The Intelligent Miner podcast! Listen to Benjamin Miller, Stefan Seltz-Axmacher, Josh Hartung and I discuss white label autonomy - what it is in a mining context and it's potential impact on mine haulage. Thanks for being such fun guests guys, and for letting me operate your autonomous tractor live. It'll be hard to top that in episode two! https://lnkd.in/ePkrY5Tz #mining #miningindustry #autonomy #autonomousvehicles #trucks #heavyhaulage #miningtrucks #theintelligentminer Polymath Robotics Sygnal Technologies #futureofmining
