About us
National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) is securing financial support to preserve the national ecosystem of independent venues and promoters. These entertainment hubs are critical to their local economies and tax bases as employers, tourism destinations, and revenue generators for neighboring businesses such as restaurants, hotels, and retail. Independent venues exist in every state across the country; they were the first to be closed, they will be the last to open. The economic recovery process will extend past just reopening the front doors, requiring solutions unique to the industry.

Independent Artists 🤝 Independent Venues NIVA is thrilled to partner with YouTube Music and their independent music incubator program, Foundry. Since 2015, Foundry has supported over 250 global artists like Dua Lipa and ROSALÍA, providing resources to help them thrive. The first three Foundry artists of 2024 are Cash Cobain, Orion Sun, and Tommy Richman — with more to come! For the first time, YouTube Music Nights will feature live performances from Foundry artists at independent venues across the country. The first events will be at Doug Weston's Troubadour in Los Angeles on September 10th and Cannery Hall in Nashville on October 23rd, showcasing both former and current Foundry talent, with lineups to be announced soon. This collaboration coincides with the launch of NIVA's Live Independent initiative, aimed at championing and elevating independent venues, festivals, and promoters by enhancing their visibility and preserving the stages where artists' careers begin. NIVA - National Independent Venue Association reposted this
For the last year, a group of 35 national music and events advocacy organizations, including NIVA - National Independent Venue Association, have been fighting for comprehensive ticketing reform across the country. Our belief is pretty simple: fake tickets should be illegal, deceptive sites that scam fans should be illegal, and you should have to disclose how much a fan will pay at the beginning of the ticket transaction. In a year, our coalition has made a House bill stronger and gotten it passed and now the Senate needs to act on their bill - the strongest set of reforms Congress has ever produced. Today is a Day of Action for us and I would ask that you take less than a minute to go to FIXTHETIX.ORG and send a letter to your Senators, Member of Congress, and the White House to tell them to fix ticketing in 2024. Fans and artists can’t wait. #FixTheTix
