Solid 4/5 card!!
And before anyone argues with me and says I undervalue it let me explain myself.
This card is an amazing control card and will make Warriors even stronger in control matchups and in those its a clear 5/5 card if not 6/5 card its truely amazing and I really think Warriors didnt need more disruption in the matchup since Warrior already have a really good success rate in those games.
But against aggressive decks it falls short and its a pretty weak card that you won't really play in fact in half your matchups this would be your weakest card and basiclly dead in hand.
I have been so excited for this card since the expansion leak and it wasn't even a Quilboar. Disgusting, I will send termites to Activision HQ in retribution now.
In terms of random minion destruction, it's a pretty clear Board is stronger than Hand, which is stronger than Deck. And while board and hand are of roughly comparable power, deck is a different story, because 1) your opponent hasn't drawn the minion yet, and it may have never been drawn before the game ends, 2) the amount of minions in the deck is much higher than what's typically in hand or on board making hitting specific targets hard, and 3) you're not immediately denying resources like you are with Hand or Board destruction.
This card is very "feels-bad" for both sides. Because it's a random minion in your deck that's being eaten, you have the fear of it eating your powerful value/combo cards, while it will typically eat some cheap garbage, which will make the Hamm player feel bad because their 6 mana 5/5 disruption just ate a Miracle Salesman. It's more frightening than it usually will be impactful in most matchups, which is a bad sign on such an expensive card. Its only chance is if the Druid Tourist cards are strong enough in Warrior to justify running Hamm, which is pretty likely because Druid is Druid, and Druid is one of the most consistently good classes in the game.
There are many, many ways to destroy minions on the board. But when you destroy a minion in hand/deck, you nullify them completely, including their battlecry, deathrattle, ability to be rezzed/copied/shuffled, etc. Once a minion is on the board, it has often already performed its special purpose for the deck. Cards like Mutanus the Devourer, Dirty Rat and now this one provide a unique way to counter decks.
So no, you can't say destroying a random minion on the board is stronger than destroying on in the opponent's hand or deck.
Yeah it's a "yes and no" card. Yes it's potentially extremely powerful on a control-deck playing very late game because the opponent may only have a few important minions in deck left,
but it's really extremely random at the end of the day and it will be in practice a total dud a lot of the time UNLESS it's mana cheated a lot or multiplied.
Oh good. Gotta wait another year and a half now for warrior to not be fucking infuriating to play against.
this card is insane, 10/10
I guess this is just what Blizzard's plan for warrior now. Warrior's class identity is stopping your opponent from having fun. Uninteractive card distruption that you can't play around galore. Everyone's like "this card isn't that good". Does it matter if it's good or not? This is the worst mechanic in the game and I think I can speak for most people and say I'm tired of it. I just want to play the game man. Can I play my own deck please? I don't even care if I win or lose. I just want to play a deck that does a thing, but there are soooo many cards in the meta like Dirty Rat and Boomboss Thorim that prevent you from playing your cards at all! You should be able to counter my strategies, but by golly, can I at least try to do them??? I'm tired of 20 minute long control games that involve the same 10 legendaries over and over and over again and having my time completely wasted because I have my win condition ratted out or eaten by a card like this.
It doesn't even matter if this card is a bad turn 6 play because you don't include it in your deck to actually play. This is the freaking tourist card! This will be included in most warrior decks simply because it lets you run druid cards
Unless you are playing all 30 cards in your deck each game, this isn't that big a deal
there are a ton of strategies or potential strategies that involve juicing up one particular minion in your deck. I personally created this fun, but bad hunter deck where I play Fluffy Hydra as my only minion and tutor it out with "draw a beast". I Q that deck vs any warrior and I have to either click concede turn 1 or play out a game for 20 minutes and hope that the warrior doesn't draw this card or kill it with boom-boss. Hypothetically, if my deck was OP, blizzard could just nerf my deck. However, because of cards like this, I don't even have the opportunity to try playing my deck.
Decks that don't get ruined by this kind of hand/deck distruption are all the same long-time boring control decks that you see in almost every match that contain your class' titan, yogg, yogg location, marin, and whatever other flavor of the month neutral legendaries that have the highest winrate. Standard is a total snooze-fest full of 20 minute long games that are entirely determined by the order each player draws their legendaries, coin-flip RNG cards and board clears.
You know, it's one thing when a murloc or an abomb eats a minion whole, but when a Tauren does it it's kinda weird.
Only good against very specific combo decks with mostly spells and few minions. Against everything else you're playing a 5/5 taunt for 6.
The Druid Tourist could be huge though.
If only Boomboss, Odyn and Brann didn't exist. Control warrior could have been fun again.
Love it, a solid mutanus copy.
Guys seriously, stop freaking out. This does maybe (sometimes) eat a Sif and win a game. Maybe it will eat a Brann or a Boomboss and win a game, BUT this is ONE minion that is RANDOMLY eaten from your DECK for 6 mana. You cannot time this as perfect as let's say Dirty Rat because you have fewer info on what is in your opponent's deck (not to mention, this will never eat a created card like the legendary Excavate rewards). You can literally counter this card by keeping your key minion in your opening hand, so your opponent has to Dirty Rat it. And how often are you going to have this activate more than once when you haven't already won the game? Never! And how often will this hit the right card? 1 in 10, maybe sometimes 1 in 5? The card is ridiculously slow against aggro and not even nearly impactful enough in value matchups. Just compare this to how many cards Boomboss kills out of nowhere and this one occasionally eats 2 if you get super lucky... Gnomeferatu is so much better, Boomboss is so much better, Patchwork is so much better. Mutanus is so much better too. This card is mediocre at best in standard and completely unplayable in wild. If it wasn't a Tourist card, it would see 0 play anywhere. Honestly, if you can't ramp this out by turn 4, it's just not good enough these days.
All the tourist enabling cards seem a bit underwhelming for immediate impact, save priests, I imagine because the deck synergies overall are so strong.
be glad this is not a battlecry effect to double with Brann
I mean, I know wherever we see an effect like this makes us Freak Out.
But is a lot worst than Mutanus the Devourer , Mutanus takes 1 card from you, gain way more stats, and as a Battlecry can be repeated many times. This is closer to a Gnomeferatu that costs 3 times more. Yes, if you don't kill it is going to keep going, but...you really are not going to kill it? A 6-Mana 5/5 with Taunt is not that hard to remove in my opinion.
Also I can justify Mutanus cause is a monster, but the cannibalism implications with this guy are there.
I see, blizzard woke up today and chose violence
More of what everyone loves from warrior!
