Shaman, as-is, can maindeck 5 (+1) different schools:
That is, on its own, enough to get the full value of this card. But let's be honest, I don't think we're going to run Incredible Value in this deck, and Watcher of the Sun can give you some real stinkers, as anyone who's maindecked it can tell you. Not bad, but also not great either.
As for Death Knight?
There's a lot more Frost and Shadow cards for DK, but Nature and Fire are limited to the Tourist cards from Shaman, and there's no Arcane to speak of. The low amount of Fire and Nature seems limited, but Buttons can tutor our Fire and Nature spells reliably.
Even if you play with just 2 schools in your deck to make sure you craft the Carress Cabaret Star version you want, this guy summons 3 5-cost minions + his 4/4 body for 7 mana... and it's really easy to charge!
Gonna be nice in DK too because of Buttons
Pretty good with Evolve .
Like Blizzard is always the same, they did this archetype on Sunken City, and they let it starve without any type of Support, being an archetype that was NEVER played, until it rotated, and then they decided to print more cards for it.
The card looks good. I think that by turn 7 you could easily play 4 different schools. which is good enough, honestly you just need to play 1-Spell to the card to be good, it's a 4/4 that is worth lets say 3-Mana, and two 5-drops, already doubles it's worth on Mana just playing any single spell school It's Jandice Barov but the minions don't have "Frenzy: Die"
I think that is pretty strong, maybe the single-handedly carrier of the whole deck.
This is really good, especially with Shudderwock.
A slightly inferior elemental inspiration on a 4/4 body. However, the main reason elemental inspiration saw play was due to the real pay off, from Siff. In some alterations of the respective meta when rainbow mage was prevalent, elemental inspiration was extremely strong. Now it sees little play in the more modern versions of rainbow mage. If this will see play or not, all depends on the further support for “rainbow” shaman/dk.
I think in rainbow dk this will be a welcomed addition, we will see about shaman. 4/5 stars.
It's worth noting that, yes, the bodies will usually be weaker than for Elemental Inspiration, BUT this starts at two bodies (4/4 and one random 5-drop) while EI starts at 0 bodies. So you only need 5 spell schools to completely fill your board instead of 7. That turns this into a more likely on-curve play.
This seems like a better payoff card for casting multiple spell schools than the Legendary...
