Drive More, Spend Less

The ZDX is more than an exhilarating drive — it’s a smart investment. ZDX drivers can take advantage of the $7,500 federal tax credit, as well as a variety of state and local incentives and rebates.* Utility providers also often offer programs that provide lower rates for charging EVs during non-peak times. Additional perks include HOV lane access in some states, as well as discounted tolls and charging at shopping centers, office buildings, airports and more.

EV CHARGING

Charging Your ZDX

There are three different levels of charging for the all-electric ZDX. Level 1 charging plugs in to any standard wall outlet, but charges slower than other options. Charge more quickly with a Level 2 charging station at home or public locations like shopping malls, offices and restaurants. For the fastest charging, choose a high-powered DC Fast Charging (DCFC) station for up to 81 miles of range added with a 10-minute charge* and easily pay through the Acura EV app.

Protection For The Road Ahead

Acura offers the reliability, protection and premium quality for the ZDX that is at the heart of Precision Crafted Performance. The ZDX is protected by a 4-year or 50,000-mile standard warranty and an 8- to 10-year battery warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

The amount of money that an EV owner can expect to save compared to a gas-powered vehicle depends on various factors, including the cost of electricity, fuel prices, vehicle efficiency, maintenance costs, and any available incentives. While exact savings will vary depending on individual circumstances, EV owners typically save money on fuel cost, maintenance cost, and savings from tax credits and other incentives. According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the cost per mile to drive an EV is about half the cost of driving a gas-powered vehicle, assuming national average electricity and gas prices. Similarly, the DOE indicates that EVs can be less costly to maintain, due to fewer moving parts, no oil changes, and reduced brake wear due to regenerative braking systems.

EVs offer an adrenaline-pumping drive by providing instant acceleration due to the electric motor. By placing the batteries in the floor, EVs also have a lower center of gravity, ensuring agile handling on the road while a single-speed transmission provides a seamless driving experience. EV performance also contributes to charging. When EVs slow down, the batteries can be recharged through energy recaptured by regenerative braking. The electric motors also produce less noise than internal combustion engines, resulting in a quieter drive.

While there will likely be some changes to your routine, like planning ahead for places to charge on longer road trips and no longer needing to stop at a gas station, the easiest way to keep the same routine is to charge at home. Simply plug in with a Level 2 charger overnight and wake up to a fully charged battery. When you do need to charge while on the road, some quick planning can help ensure that you can shop, eat or run errands while your ZDX charges.

The maintenance on an EV is minimal. EVs do not require scheduled oil changes, for example, but will still need regular service on items like tire rotations, alignments and air filter changes. The ZDX will also need to have its battery, electric motor and cooling system inspected.

Planning ahead and checking which charging options are available on your route to your destination can help ensure the best road trip experience possible. Utilize the Acura EV app or Google built-in* in your ZDX to locate available charging stations along your route, ensuring optimal charging stops and keeping you on schedule to reach your destination. Many public charging stations are now located near restaurants and shopping so you can time your charging with meals or stretch your legs while you wait.

You can choose from one of the three charging packages offered by Acura as part of the MSRP to help offset the costs of installation or public charging.

If you already have a home charging station, Package Option C is the ideal choice as it includes $750 in public charging credits. Learn more about your charging package options.
