On the front end

On the front end, 3 days of cancellation and with no connecting flight fourth day..

PLAY Airlines tried to make it up to me at the end extending my stay 2 weeks more.

For this I could give a 5 star. Still awaiting my compensatory refund awards for cancellations delayes or interruptions during my trip with transportation, lodging etc..

Best bang for buck!

I flew round-trip with Play Airlines from London to DC, with a brief stopover in Iceland. The value for money with Play was excellent. Although I used other airlines to visit other European countries, Play's service at check-in and during the flight exceeded the others. We were always on time, the legroom was good, and the plane was clean. The Icelandic chocolate served on the flight was delicious.
While there's no TSA pre-check, the regular security line at Dulles moved quickly, so I didn't feel like I missed out. There's no in-flight TV, so bring a device with downloads if you want to watch movies and have a backup charger since my return flight didn't have the option to plug in devices.
I will definitely use Play again, and next time, I plan to stay in Iceland for a few days to explore what the country has to offer.

Good Prices - quick Flights

Good prices, easy to book another flight, when plans change. Flights in time, actually too early in arrival. ;)
Space is okay, not really comfortable but good.
Stuff need more time for cleaning, that was not so nice to see, a quick wipe by hand...
Overall good flights and mostly helpful E-Mails surrounding the travel.

Avoid if you can

Flights were on time and uneventful, which is the only reason I’m giving 2/5 instead of 1/5.

This airline enforces a 20kg checked bag limit for international flights to Iceland while most airlines have a 23kg limit. We had to pay around 150€ extra for a few KGs extra. Staff at the counter were also very unfriendly. This seems to be a thing with them as the people next to us were also charged for overweight luggage.

Will not fly with them ever again. Avoid if you can.

We had two completely different experiences with PLAY vs. Norwegian.
Play’s staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Play’s hand luggage size is reasonable. We will definitely be flying with them again.

Worth the price

I love the leg space, probably the best among low coast airlines.
I did not interact much with the staff, therefore, I have nothing good or bad to say :)

Excellent value for money

Ticket buying, check-in and boarding processes were clear and executed efficiently. Much better value than even other carriers who offer services at higher price points.
We will definitely take advantage of a longer stop-over in Reykjavik next time.

Great Airline

Great Airline ... would love a wee complimentary cuppa coffee or tea on the flight but the service and cost of their flights is excellent and the staff are so friendly and really good at their job. I've use them 4 times now, I've recommended Play to family and friends and will continue too.

The crew in BWI was incredibly unhelpful and rude to my elderly father in a wheelchair. The flight crew also treated him like a burden rather than a person with dignity. Very disappointing.

Super helpful staff

Super helpful staff, joyful and nice. Everything was on time even ahead of schedule.
Very nice aircrafts with plenty of leg-space which is uncommon for a low-budget airline!

Staff was great-Seats seem smaller than other low cost airlines - could also have been length of flight.
Flight was full- and some passengers carryon bags were stored in the lavatory for take off- we didn’t understand why they weren’t gate checked.

I LOVE flying Play Airlines

I LOVE flying Play Airlines. No fuss and no frills! Had a great experience on my flight, no delays. Felt really comfortable with the amount of leg room and space I had. The child next to me was very excited that his dad purchased a Puffin from the in-flight store, which was very endearing.

23 hours delay, won’t fly with play again!

23 hours delay, no direct information from staff, only emails, had to book hotel by ourselves, hopefully will get a full refund for this horrible experience! We spent 12 hours at the airport before we were informed that there won’t be a flight until the next day. We lost a hotel night that we already paid for and a day of our holidays in Warsaw. We definitely won’t be flying again with play!

Great airline, very good experience

We flew with them first time and it was great. Going to Europe were no issues. Coming back the plane had an issue but it was fixed before we left (about 2 hours). With that we were supposed to miss our connection flight. They have put extra fuel and took us to Island faster and asked the connection flight to wait. Not only that, but our luggage got put into the connection flight and got home with us at the same time... AMAZING!

Flight was fine

Flight was fine, no frills. It would have been nice to have access to entertainment via seat back TVs which are on most international flights. Didn't love they charged for food. Another usual thing on international flights as most airlines allow for one free meal or two depending on the length of the flight.

The worst airline I've ever…

The worst airline I've ever encountered. The flight attendants were rude and unhelpful. All refreshments were incredibly overpriced. I also paid to reserve seats which we didn't end up getting, and they did nothing to make it right. Avoid this airline if you possibly can.

No frills, but gets you there

This airline is as no frills as it gets, no tvs, no power ports, you pay a la carte for luggage, seats, food, etc…. This is disclosed when you buy the tickets so was expected and we were fine with. My only issue with the airline is communication. One of our flights was significantly delayed (a 9 hour delay), this was clearly communicated in an email to us. As it was, prior to the delay we had an 11 hour connection so we were out of the airport and in Reykjavík, the delay added time for us to explore. However when we got back to the airport there was no one from the airline to explain what was going on, the gate was not being displayed for the flight and overall there was a ton of confusion as to what was happening. Ultimately they communicated the gate and we left for our final destination, but that lack of communication was the only issue we experienced.

Reliable airline

We used Play to fly round trip to Iceland. Overall, I would definitely book with them again. They're a consistently reliable budget airline - cheap, they'll get you there on time, the seats are comfortable enough for a 6 hour flight, and the flight attendants are attentive/friendly. It's your basic no-frills airline, but it works. We were able to get our bag checked really quickly, print out our boarding passes, and board easily - a seamless and low stress experience overall. The one con (and why I knocked a star off) is that some of their planes are older and do not have USB outlets in their seats. In 2024, even with a budget airline, I do expect to be able to plug in my devices to charge them while I fly.

Totally worth it!

Seats comfortable, reclined, plane ride was smooth, no worry’s at all, we have extra luggage maybe little bigger or heavier, but no picky checking, if you thinking to fly Play, I recommend for saving money!
We took plane Venice-Reykjavik.

It got me to where I needed to go

It got me to where I needed to go, no frills whatsoever. No in flight entertainment (a first for me on an international flight), no food or drink included whatsoever (paid for a can of Pepsi). Seats weren’t comfortable, very thin cushion. But again, got where I needed to go and cabin crew was perfectly nice and friendly. And the flight attendants had the best uniforms of any airline in my opinion, casual but professional.
