Synopsis[]

High and Dry 030

The group leaving the water.

SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, and Elwood are going for a trip outside onto the surface. He uses a buddy system, pairing SpongeBob with Elwood and Patrick with Sandy. They head to the island, put on their helmets, and walk onto the shore. The buddy system works out well, and Squidward consults the survival guide and orders the campers to find a good spot to establish camp. He sets out a lawn chair under a palm tree, while Sandy uses her own invention to pitch a tent and campfire.

Squidward tells them to forage for food. Sandy finds a giant coconut and drops the shell onto Squidward by accident. Patrick tries to crack the shell with an egg he found. He flings it into the air, where SpongeBob walks by with a frying pan he found. They fry the egg and eat it, then go to bed for the night.

The next morning, they are suddenly attacked by a seagull swooping down. Sandy realizes they must have ate one of its eggs, and Squidward looks in the survival guide for ideas. Their first idea is to hide under the coconut shell, but the seagull finds its way under there. Next, they try burrowing underground, but Patrick goes too far and ends up elsewhere on the surface. Finally, they send a decoy to lead the bird away from everyone else, drawing straws to determine who it is. It ends up being Elwood, who Squidward sends outside.

Elwood is captured by the bird, and the others run back to the shore. SpongeBob stops them, saying they need to save Elwood. They wield their weapons and get ready to attack the seagull. Sandy takes them to the seagull's nest, where they find it is a makeup artist named Dana Dinsmore who was giving Elwood a makeover. SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, and Squidward are won over by the pitch for her cosmetics and return home with heavy makeup. They run into Krabs, who they try to give a makeover, to his horror.
