"Dig This" is a Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years episode from season 2. In this episode, a mysterious bone discovery at Kamp Koral leads Sandy to start an archeological dig.

Characters[]

Synopsis[]

Patrick is using breadsticks to search for an "underground pizza motherlode," which Sandy points out cannot exist. He then finds a bone sticking out of the ground, which excites Sandy. She starts an excavation site in hopes of discovering a new prehistoric creature from the remains. Unknown to her, Narlene and Nobby are dumping the bones into a quicksand pit, which wash up at the dig site. Krabs comes by, initially skeptical about the dig until Sandy explains they are finding a new species, which Krabs wants turn into a roadside attraction.

Narlene dumping trash in the quicksand.

Narlene begins dumping more trash into the quicksand, which begins to wash up at the dig site. The campers stick the random bits of garbage onto Sandy's dinosaur skeleton. Bubble Bass, Harvey, and Krabs are come up with ways to make it sound more exciting, but Sandy exclaims they are not focused on the science, just the money, and storms off.

Sandy comes across Narlene and Nobby flushing their garbage down the quicksand hole. She realizes that the junk has been mistaken for parts of a skeleton and dumps in the quicksand herself to verify it. After she leaves, Narlene dumps in a huge pile toxic, expired Sugar Squeeze. Sandy comes out in the middle of a circus tent where Krabs has held the dinosaur skeleton. She tells Bubble Bass that he has mistaken the junk for dinosaur parts, but he does not listen. Patrick christens the dinosaur "the thing", smashing the radioactive Sugar Squeeze on it.

Glarg heads back home.

The dinosaur comes to life and begins rampaging around camp, horrifying the campers. However, it is not actually harming anyone; rather, it wants technology and parts of the camp's structures. It hooks them up to make a communication device and requests evacuation from two members of its species. A UFO arrives and picks it up, and it thanks SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy, explaining it was made from the parts of a crashed spacecraft. Sandy is still skeptical about this being science, even more so once SpongeBob, Patrick, Narlene, and Nobby finally unearth a fountain of underground pizza.
