We’re a touch overdue introducing Mat Kirk, but better late than never.   Mat has joined Assura Software as an Account Manager to help look after our growing customer base. To date, he’s met a number of clients, solved more issues than he’s created…and is picking up the capabilities of the Assura platform quickly.   Prior to joining Assura, Mat’s work history included being an Account Manager for Merdian Energy and working his way up to being the National Corporate Sales Manager at Powershop/Merdian Energy.   Outside of work Mat competes in duathlons and triathlons when his body allows and collects motorbikes at a rate few people would deem sensible. He’s also well-travelled and speaks Thai well beyond the level required to order a good takeaway dinner.   It’s good to have Mat Kirk join the team and he looks forward to meeting more clients as time goes by.

We’re proud to announce our partnership with the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust | Rānui House in Christchurch. The Assura Software team has provided them with a Health & Safety system, plus training for their team to get the most out of it.   Ranui House does amazing work in our community acting as a ‘home away from home’ for patients and their families at an incredibly tough time. So it’s fantastic to support this group of people in a small way.    Along with Ronald McDonald House Charities and the The Hāpai Access Card we can now add Bone Marrow Cancer Trust | Rānui House to the list of fantastic organisations we proudly support. https://bmct.org.nz/

One of our customers in the USA is Craig Gyselinck from the Upper Columbia Irrigation District. When he's not running the district he is also the team Team Lead with the Chelan Mountain Rescue crew and has shared a few stories about some of the rescues he’s been involved in. One of their rescues was nominated for and won an award and the below short clip was made about it. He also has a brilliant story about a Las Vegas casino owner, a squirrel and a forest fire. Anyway, it made me realise I needed to get better work stories, great work Craig, always fantastic to see someone giving back. https://lnkd.in/gGkgXSxu

Ongoing growth has provided the opportunity to add an additional Account Manager to the team, so we'd like to introduce Mat Kirk. In Mat's own words: I have spent my entire working life in the energy industry, as an Account Manager and as a National Sales Manager for a major retailer, and as a consultant working with the Electricity Authority to improve industry competition and consumer tools. I have joined Assura because they genuinely support and collaborate in-depth with their clients to deliver the tools and solutions that they need to be better and safer - a dynamic sorely missing from my prior industry. Outside of work, I participate in many multisport and endurance events. This translates as - I spend all my time running, cycling, wearing Lycra, mixing fluorescent hydration potions, applying army-surplus volumes of anti-chaff cream, assigning my girlfriend to the role of Support Crew, and constantly living in the eternal time and money pit that is “getting more aero”. Also (and rather worryingly), since turning 40 the quality and condition of my lawn has jumped up to a close second in priority….

The mobile application is the main way most users interact with Assura and so the functionality and usability continues to evolve to meet this ever-growing need. The most recent person to join this team as a senior mobile developer is Steve Chadbourne.   We’ll let Steve say who he is in his own words, but to us he’s a great member of the team, wearer of cool t-shirts and helping to make the Assura boat go faster. Steve, what do you want people to know about you? Remember your wife might read this…   "I'm really enjoying working for Assura and helping to support and move the Mobile App forwards.   I have worked in a variety of development roles over the years including writing financial software for banks and insurance companies, automating warehouses for Pfizer and helping airlines digitize their technical documentation.   My last role was developing a field based configurable mobile app that was very similar to Assura so I hope my form builder experience is useful to the team.   I was born in Yorkshire in the North of England and moved to New Zealand in 2005. I lived in Auckland for 10 years before a brief stint in Australia (very hot and burney) then settled down in sunny Nelson.   I'm a keen golfer, bowler and guitar player."
