TheDJ

Status:    Done

I want to usurp the following account

The user has no edits, created in 2012 well after I globified my account (was that still possible then ?) TheDJ (talk) 18:53, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Done TheDJ renamed to TheDJ (usurped). I don't think it was still possible in 2012 to create a conflicting SUL account, but maybe a bug hit here. --MF-W 10:48, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Barcelona

Status:    Done

I'd like to usurp all the inactive accounts before they rename me since the last mandatory SUL policy --Barcelona (talk) 10:28, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Since you own the SUL account (Special:Centralauth/Barcelona), you don't have to fear forced renaming. The accounts listed on that page as not attached will be the ones affected by the forced rename. If one of them belongs to you, you can also go to Special:Mergeaccount to attach it. --MF-W 10:48, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
thanks a lot --Barcelona (talk) 21:05, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

I want to usurp the following account

to complete my SUL account, That user has no edits. I did not find a local page on suwiki for usurpation. --Spischot (talk) 03:02, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Perhaps you can try asking the only active bureaucrat directly? -- Mentifisto 03:34, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
Done, see su:Obrolan_pamaké:Kandar#SUL_account_usurpation --Spischot (talk) 04:14, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
The bureaucrat does not react on the request since more than a week now. I reraise my request here: Can somebody here please help me to usurp the account? --Spischot (talk) 22:01, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Done --MF-W 02:58, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

bmike

Status:    Done

I want to usurp the following accounts so I may use bmike instead of bmike8 globally. My bureaucrat directed me here to request the below global account be deleted. Forgive me if I don't yet grok the proper relation to local and global accounts, hopefully my intent is clear.

You may either simply wait until 27 May, or request it at WM:CHU (preferably with a difflink in which you confirm, e.g. on dewiki, while logged-in), that you indeed own the global account. --MF-W 22:14, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

Cuentas unificadas de usuario Antón Francho

Status:    Done

   as.wikipedia.org

Antón Francho (talk) 18:41, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

He renombrado la cuenta "Antón Francho" en as.wikipedia, que no tenía ediciones. Ahora puedes crear una cuenta allí. --MF-W 22:32, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

I want to usurp the following accounts

None of them is me, however De's latest edit was in 2009, Fr, It never edited, En inactive since 2005, Es since 2007, Ru, Nl since 2008. --Vince 18:33, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

All the named wikis here have local bureaucrats, see this page. That page is list of wikis where renaming and also usurping of accounts can be locally. So you need to go to these wikis in order to add them to your global account. --Wiki13 talk 18:51, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
Hello, Vince, we are waiting for you to follow this up in their respective request page. If no other followup from you in a couple of days, we will close this as inactive request and you may fill the same request again in the future once you have the time. Bennylin 15:09, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Close as not done. Bennylin 12:22, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Denny

Status:    Done

In the last few months, I managed to get about 20 of my accounts linked, as you can see here. My 10-year anniversary on Wikimeda-Projects is closing in, so I hope that I can resolve SUL by then! :) The following few are missing still. As you can see, the id-admins never answered, vi does not have any admins, etc.

--denny (talk) 14:22, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

Sorry to make you wait. I've personally contacted the id-wp bureaucrat, and I've left messages at de.wb and tr.wp bureaucrats who were active in the past weeks. Bennylin 15:42, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
The reply from tr.wp: "The target account has an edit on tr-wiki. We usually do not complete such usurpation requests. Thanks and regards." Bennylin 15:57, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
It's been done in id.wp by Mimihitam. You only need to login to id.wp to merge the account. We apologize for you to have to wait for such a long time. Bennylin 11:04, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
I'm going to leave this as done. For de.wb you can follow it up in b:de:Benutzer_Diskussion:Heuler06#Usurpation_request_at_Meta. Bennylin 12:28, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

According to the tool: SUL collision detector there are a very large number of "unattached" accounts which I'd like to usurp. I'm a bit confused as to how to proceed. For example, all of these edits German Edits are, in fact, mine. Every user on the others has made no edits that I can see. Shall I request a merge for each independently? --War (talk) 08:08, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

First visit Special:Mergeaccount. This will allow you to unify any of the "unattached" accounts that are actually yours. For the remainder, if the project has a local bureaucrat, you will need to request a local usurp. The places to do this are listed at Index of pages where renaming can be requested. QuiteUnusual (talk) 09:11, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
Confusing. How can I ask for a local usurp if I cannot log into the local wiki? From what I've seen on this page. I have to ask for an usurp from here for every single wiki for which SUL has identified as "unattached". There are 17 of them. I'll do it if I must...though I'd prefer any easier way. War (talk) 19:45, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry, there is no easier way to do it. For each of the 17 unattached accounts, use this page and request the local bureaucrat do the usurp. If the local crats don't answer you after a week or two, come back here and we'll see what we can do. MBisanz talk 11:33, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
You can either create a temporary accounts to make requests on those wikis, or do so anonymously. You should make a confirmation edit from your old account (e.g. edit on your homewiki saying that you are indeed requesting usurpation.) Many wikis will require such a confirmation edit. --Bencmq (talk) 04:45, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
Close as not done. You're welcomed to submit another request detailing which account you want the steward to usurp for you. Bennylin 12:29, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

wikinews logins not working

Status:    Done

On my en.wikipedia.org Preferences page, it says "Global account status: In migration", and when I click on "Manage your global account", the page title there says "Login unification not complete!", with this message at the bottom:

The account "Ὁ οἶστρος" could not be automatically confirmed as belonging to you on the following sites; most likely they have a different password from your primary account:

(Entering my password under "Finish merge" doesn't work.)

Since I've got a rather peculiar username, I doubt anybody else is using / has set up those wikinews accounts. So, what gives? Why can't I log in? Thanks for your help. – Ὁ οἶστρος (talk) 16:27, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

All four projects show your account being created automatically at 15:28, 4 April 2013. As you control the SUL account, this means these local accounts belong to you. Odd to see all created at exactly the same time, do you remember doing anything specific then (like clicking through quickly to visit each project)? There is a known bug, which we hoped was resolved, that can lead to accounts becoming unattached like this. It can be fixed by renaming the unattached accounts so you can create them again QuiteUnusual (talk) 17:40, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
That day, I was at http://www.wikinews.org, clicking on many of the links to the different language-specific wikinews sites. Oddly, at the wikinews sites in the four languages listed above (I clicked on many additional links, like en.wikinews.org etc.), I was prompted to log in. But when I tried, my password wasn't accepted. That's all that happened. And now I have that weird "Global account status: In migration" message displayed in my account preferences. Was the bug you mention fixed after the 4th of April? If not and the current unattached accounts are renamed, I'm afraid the same will happen again upon hitting those links. – Ὁ οἶστρος (talk) 18:03, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
The problem is believed to be related to the attaching of the new local account to the SUL. Somehow the account is both not attached and the password is "wrong" and login is impossible - it has happened to a number of people, me included. Your problem occurred before the fix was made, although we aren't sure yet that the fix will work as we've not been able to consistently recreate the problem. QuiteUnusual (talk) 20:01, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
Ah, I see. OK, would be great if you could rename those four accounts (and only those) to something else, so I could try to log in again at some point in the future (I'll try to remember to wait a bit, though). Thanks a bunch. – Ὁ οἶστρος (talk) 14:27, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
I think that QuiteUnusual is referring to bugzilla:39996 FWIW. πr2 (t • c) 14:56, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. – Ὁ οἶστρος (talk) 15:53, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
Unfortunately all 4 projects have active Bureaucrats, so I can't rename you - you'll have to request the rename locally at each project QuiteUnusual (talk) 15:28, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
Forgive my ignorance, but where exactly at those projects do I make my requests? (Took me long enough to find this here page... – and my apologies if I asked all of this at the wrong venue to begin with.) – Ὁ οἶστρος (talk) 15:53, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
There isn't a special page to request the rename. In each case you will need to contact a bureaucrat - I suggest the most active one. I see you have already posted on the talk page of one at de.wikinews. Do you need help in finding the others? QuiteUnusual (talk) 15:25, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, links would be great (especially navigating to a germane page on the Serbian wikinews.org site seems like a rather daunting task to me). As you noticed, I asked for assistance at de.wikinews.org, but he / she hasn't responded yet. – Ὁ οἶστρος (talk) 15:53, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
OK, requests have now been made with bureaucrats at all four projects; one account has already been removed / renamed. Thanks for all the replies here. – Ὁ οἶστρος (talk) 13:32, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
Close as done, and (should be) dealt locally as each of the project have active crats. Bennylin 12:32, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

DangSunM

please delete SUL account for renaming 분당선M->DangSunM -- DangSunM (talk) 15:24, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Is the SUL account yours? It is not necessary to delete the SUL account in order to rename accounts to that name. You can Special:Mergeaccount to attach them then. --MF-W 13:55, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
Close as not done. Bennylin 12:32, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Both projects have local bureaucrats; you need to ask locally or wait until the global account change is implemented when you will automatically usurp them QuiteUnusual (talk) 20:02, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
Should be handled locally, they both have active crats. Bennylin 12:44, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

I want to usurp the following accounts. I have requested to the local bureaucrats through the local change username page, but seems they are inactive. I'm using the username "Muhib" in all other projects of wiki. Could you please consider to change my username in those two projects too.

--Muhib (talk) 09:38, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Both projects have local bureaucrats. Please, ask them. Ruslik (talk) 16:42, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
Local crats in id.wiki are inactive for about a month. My request is still pending. Thats why I put my request here. Could anyone help me? Muhib (talk) 15:56, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
