It seems that one some wikis my SUL account is having problems. The issue: my SUL account has automatically created the local account, but I have not been logged in. When I try to log in using my SUL password, I get an incorrect password message. I send a password reset email, which makes it to my inbox. I successfully log in and visit my preferences to find the account is not attached to the SUL one. I try attaching it using Special:MergeAccount at Meta but the accounts is not showing there at all (neither attached or unattached list). Weird, right?

Anyway, can a steward try and force a merge to the global account for these wikis? (Only the accounts created on November 2nd - de, es, ga, pl, and sl wikis are not me)

Can You try attaching them from each wiki, e.g. ca.wikiquote one from ca.wikiquote? That should work, don't try to attach them from Meta. It looks a bit like a bug, but I think it is an old one, having seen that in the beginning...

No, You can't create that account, because it exists, he created it automatically by logging in (which he can't do anymore now since the account is locked). I recommend to have all local accounts renamed (de.wiki and en.wiki that would be only) and then we delete the global one and then You can create them. The locking of Pathoschild prevents, that he can create more accounts and that he edits with the existing ones.

Hi - there are a lot of outstanding requests on English wiktionary (including mine). I think this counts as a wiki without a currently active bureaucrat. The requests date back to mid October. A while ago a bureaucrat at ar.wikisource helped me usurp the user account user:أحمد and merge it into my global account, which I'm currently using. However my old account s:ar:user:ألِف still exists separately!

I'd like to merge the old account ألِف into my global account, please, in order to retain my edit history

I had requested this from him a couple of months ago, but he is no longer active.

Ah, I think I understand, You want "ألِف" be renamed to "أحمد", for this the crat would just need to rename "ألِف" to something else and then rename "أحمد" to "ألِف", the problem was that You have autocreated the account (without wanting it I guess) and so the local crat might have not renamed Your other account. I do own both accounts, and I want to keep the autocreated account أحمد since it is my global account. The aim is to keep on using أحمد and have the history of ألف merged to it. I don't mind deleting ألف afterwards or forever locking it.

Hello, merging edits from one account to another is not possible, it is only possible to do that this way:

rename the now 0 edit (autocreated) account "أحمد" to something else to make space for the

rename from "ألِف" (the accounts with edits) to "أحمد"

After this You will have to merge "أحمد" to Your global account via special:mergeaccount

(The crat could also rename "something else" (the temporary name he chose) to "ألِف" afterwards, then You can keep a redirect, and the account would be still Yours.)

Ahmad has created the Global account before I upsurb the current 0 edits account depending on his request , so I couldnt rename his old account ... maybe that is possible now as some fixing has been made for the single login features --Chaos 13:24, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, if there's a way to switch the edits of one account to another as geimfyglið suggested, then I'd be grateful if you do that for me, Chaos, as I hate to loose my edits in either account.

I can help you with the SQL, if this is what it takes.

On the other hand, if there's no facility to achieve this switching of credits in an automated way, then I understand, and I don't wish to waste your time.

I only request that the first (creation) and last edit of this page be switched. I'll put ألِف in suspended-animation. Maybe a way will be devised in the future.
