Steganographia (Graece στεγανός "protectus" vel "circumspectus" + γράφειν "scribere") est ars, qua nuntius, imago vel pellicua in alio nuntio, imagine, pellicula absconditur. Discernenda est cryptographia, quae ipsos nuntios non abscondit, sed ita mutat, ne legi sive intelligi possint.
