Endianness (Anglice; quasi 'finalitas' vel etiam 'finitudinalitas') est ordo sequentialis per quem bytes maioribus quantitatibus ordinantur cum in memoria computatrali ponantur vel cum trans nexus digitales transmittantur. Endianness res magni momenti in scientia computatrali est quia binae formae repugnantes in usu communi sunt: vocabula repraesentari possunt in forma big-endian aut little-endian, num bits vel bytes vel alia elementa a magno fine (bit significationis maximae) vel parvo fine (bit significationis minimae) ordinanda sint.

Danny Cohen pro bytes ordinandis vocabula big-endian et little-endian in commentario anno 1980 prolato introduxit.[1][2][3] In hac technica politicaque rerum ordinis byte investigatione, haec nomina endian e Gulliver's Travels, satura Ionathan Swift (1726), tractantur, in quo bellum civile erumpit de quaestione num magna aut parva ovi cocti pars sit perfringendi idonea pars, quod vicissim analogia est numerandi a fine qui bit significationis maximae aut bit significationis minimae continet.[4][5]
