Take a look at this picture. It was taken today at our Salesforce offices in Tel-Aviv. It shows a few dozens of Salesforce Israel employees in one of our regular all-hands meetings. What's so special about that? Well, that picture was taken exactly 36 hours after Iran launched a massive aerial strike against Israel with 100s of UCAVs, ballistic and cruise missiles carrying about 60 tons(!) of explosives. Thanks to the Israeli Air force, the air forces of the US, UK, France, Jordan and others *and* Israeli innovation and engineering talent who developed the most advanced multi-layered air defense systems in the world - luckily that attack ended up with relatively low impact. It was a sleepless night for all us in Israel who got an advanced notice of the attack and basically spent that night bracing for impact. Now take another look at this picture. 36 hours later - People showing up at the office, talking to each other, having a few laughs, having meetings, discussing deadlines, solving business problems, discussing engineering problems, doing demos, having coffee and lunch together, having an all-hands meeting together. 36 hours ago we were bracing for impact of 60 tons of explosives that were about to fall out of the sky. What are the biggest tech companies in Israel? According to the data that I see in Goozali, the 4 largest companies by number of employees are: 1. Intel Corporation with 10K+ employees in Israel 2. Elbit Systems with 10k+ 3. Amdocs with 5 - 10K 4. Rafael Advanced Defense Systems with 5 - 10K Am I missing any tech company that has 5K+ employees based in IL?

Is the SaaS Era Coming to an End? Not Quite, But Adaptation is Key In his recent article for TheMarker, technology correspondent Omri Zerachovitz explores the question on many investors' and entrepreneurs' minds: Has the SaaS era reached its end? While the slowing growth rates and lowered forecasts of some SaaS companies, coupled with Salesforce's 20% stock drop last week, have raised doubts, I would argue that the SaaS model is here to stay. However, SaaS businesses will need to evolve and position themselves strategically in an increasingly crowded market. The rise of SaaS ushered in a new era of software delivery, offering scalability, lower upfront costs, and continuous updates over traditional on-premises models. This disruption has created immense value, as evidenced by the success stories of pioneers like Salesforce. However, as the SaaS market matures and becomes more saturated across various domains, differentiation and innovation will be crucial for companies to thrive. The "red ocean" of competition means that simply offering a SaaS solution is no longer enough – businesses must find ways to stand out, whether through superior user experiences, niche specialization, or groundbreaking features. Moreover, as customers become more discerning and cost-conscious, SaaS providers will need to demonstrate tangible value and ROI to justify their subscription models. Transparency, customer success, and delivering measurable business outcomes will be key competitive advantages. A recent example highlighting the current market dynamics is SAP's acquisition of Walkme. The relatively low multiple (~4) of this acquisition underscores the need for SaaS companies to position themselves wisely and prove their value proposition in a competitive landscape. While challenges and consolidation may lie ahead, the fundamental benefits of the SaaS model remain compelling for both vendors and customers. Those who can adapt, innovate, and carve out defensible positions in their respective markets will be well-positioned to thrive in the evolving SaaS landscape. The Google Cloud Summit Tel Aviv may be over, but this is just the start. Attendees learned and challenged their skills, networked, got inspired by our customer's innovations, and had a great time doing it all. As Israel celebrates its 76th Independence Day, the amazing guys at the Mamram Alumni Foundation have produced a collection of tips for founders, by founders. It's in Hebrew, but let me translate my own part for the benefit of my English reader friends. Obviously, every journey will be different, and the only constant will be change, so enjoy it! 1. Surround yourself with people you can trust blindly. Co-founders, managers, and team leaders. People that share that excitement and passion for what you are building and are ready to do whatever it takes. 2. Put the customer at the center. It's easy to get excited about something you are building, but always remember there is a customer on the other side that needs to see the value and use it. Always get feedback from customers, so you are aligned with what they need. 3. Don't forget to breathe. This journey is more like a rollercoaster - with ups, downs, and rapid changes. Do yourself and your team a favor and remember to take a moment to recharge. Set ambitious, yet achievable goals, and enjoy the ride. If it's not fun - why doing it?
