Michelle Duvall is a character created by Legendary Pictures who made her first appearance within the 2023 MonsterVerse series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, where she served as an operative of Monarch.

Personality[]

Michelle Duvall is a militant person with a strong sense of duty, order, and respect for the chain of command. She has little time for nonsense and prefers to get the job done quickly and efficiently. She is smart, speaking multiple languages, and can identify a persons weaknesses within moments of meeting them. Michelle is driven largely by her desire to prevent another emergence and by the loss of her sister Sandra. When Lee Shaw arrives with the promise of stopping monsters forever, Michelle betrays Monarch for the action that Shaw is taking, as opposed to Monarch studious approach.

Relationships[]

Sandra Brody[]

Not much is known about Michelle's relationship with her sister Sandra, but it is implied that the two of them were close since Michelle is still grieving Sandra's death after 16 years.

Tim[]

Tim was Michelle's partner at Monarch and they went on a mission together to find William Randa's files. She was the muscle in their relationship and urged him to get a backbone and become tougher. They were friends even if they didn't realize it. Although Tim was upset when Michelle betrayed Monarch to work with Lee Shaw, Michelle still cared enough about Tim to save him from the nuclear power plant after the charges detonated. Likewise, Tim cared enough to ask Natalia Verdugo if she heard from Michelle after the incident.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters[]

Monarch was alerted when William Randa's case files were reopened electronically. Tim contacted Michelle so they could travel to Tokyo, Japan.^[1] The operatives arrived in the country and immediately tracked the culprits, whom they identified as Cate Randa, Kentaro Randa, and May Olowe-Hewitt. They tried to have a civil discussion with Cate, though she misunderstood their intentions as kidnapping. She caused a car accident and fled from the scene.

Michelle and Tim tracked the computer signal to May's apartment, but came up empty handed. Michelle and Tim then invaded the Randa household. They asked Kentaro for the files back, only for Emiko Randa to secretly tell her son to run, so he escaped moments before Tim recognized Hiroshi Randa in a photograph.^[2]
