The Aether Portal is a portal added by The Aether mod, which leads to the Aether. The frame is constructed similarly to Nether Portals, but is instead created with Glowstone. To activate the portal, simply pour a Water Bucket on the inside (much like Flint and Steel with Nether portals). The portal block is blue instead of the purple of the Nether Portal. Mobs, boats, and minecarts cannot pass through Aether Portals; Aether Portals cannot intersect with each other. Should the portal spawn in midair, two Glowstone blocks spawn on each side for the player to stand on. The portal can also break like a Nether portal, which makes the portal unusable. The Aether portal is basically the opposite of the Nether portal, as glowstone is the brightest block, and obsidian is the darkest.

To make an Aether Portal, you must have Glowstone blocks (10 at minimum, 14 for the corners, and 18 for the standing place shown in the picture below).

To create an Aether portal, make a base of 4 blocks side by side (or 2 if you leave out the corners). On the edge of both, stack up four glowstone, then close your rectangle. Finally, pour water inside.

To make the pathway, you just put 2 glowstone blocks on each side of the portal.
