  1. Here is a guide to rolling back Fallout 4 Game of the Year Edition to 1.10.163.0 (the version before the "Next Gen Update") Do keep in mind that you can also just grab Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition DRM-free on GOG and skip all this process, while also having the ability to rollback anytime you want hassle-free, play offline, and store your games and their Backup Offline Installers externally. To get started, install the English version of Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition via Steam. Before starting this process, you should disable Steam Cloud Saves to avoid causing problems with your vanilla game saves. On Steam rolling back to the 1.10.163.0 version is a doable but complex process. To do so, you need to follow this instructions: Type steam://open/console into your browser. This will prompt Steam to open the console. There, you need to download each part of the previous Fallout 4: GOTY Edition version by typing the following commands into the console: For Part A use: download_depot 377160 377161 7497069378349273908 For Part B use: download_depot 377160 377163 5819088023757897745 For the executable file use: download_depot 377160 377162 5847529232406005096 For the English version use: download_depot 377160 377164 2178106366609958945 To download the content for each of the DLCs that you may own type these commands: For HD Texture Pack use: download_depot 377160 540810 1558929737289295473 For Automatron use: download_depot 377160 435870 1691678129192680960 For Automatron English language pack use: download_depot 377160 435871 5106118861901111234 For Wasteland Workshop use: download_depot 377160 435880 1255562923187931216 For Far Harbor use: download_depot 377160 435881 1207717296920736193 Far Harbor English language pack use: download_depot 377160 435882 8482181819175811242 For Contraptions Workshop use: download_depot 377160 480630 5527412439359349504 For Vault-Tec Workshop use: download_depot 377160 480631 6588493486198824788 For Vault-Tec Workshop English language pack use: download_depot 377160 393885 5000262035721758737 For Nuka World use: download_depot 377160 490650 4873048792354485093 For Nuka World English language pack use: download_depot 377160 393895 7677765994120765493 These files will download into your Steam library folder (by default it is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_377160") in separate depot folders, for example, the Fallout 4 executable file would be in a folder named "depot_377162". Once you have these files downloaded, create a new folder on your desktop, and copy the contents of each of the aforementioned folders into this new folder replacing files as you go. Once you are done, it means you have constructed the entirety of the previous version of Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition. Now, simply delete everything in your current Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation folder and replace it with everything in this folder.

  2. Hello, I can no longer add image titles to images in the image gallery on my mod page. Two other people told me about the same problem. The title window opens but when you click on "submit" nothing happens and the loading symbol spins endlessly. And if you press the enter key on the keyboard several times, lots of gears appear. Looking forward to your help, thanks.

  3. And now you are testing it with other people - namely your existing long-term users. And you are hearing other opinions which are being dismissed because "people you tested with" liked it better the other way.

  5. I can confirm this is an issue and have raised it internally. Thanks for the report.

  6. Thanks for raising this, what has happened here is that whilst optimising another part of the website we found some configuration that wasn't what we expected - specifically that we had .webp quality on all images set to 90 when the .webp default is 75. This results in some very large images that do not give a good experience to the majority of users. We have updated that configuration and did some light touch testing on images and mod images to see what the effect was and we were struggling to see much difference so we deployed the change. Looking at the examples you've provided we can see that 75 is too aggressive when displaying the full images and we'll look at increasing this quality either back to the 90 that it was before or see what else we can do. I think it's highly likely that we'll be keeping all thumbnails on 75 quality as it's considerably faster for users to load the images. I'll report back here in a few days when we've made the change ( the configuration & testing isn't as simple as it sounds! ).

  7. Some of the things you're saying are bad I see as good for the mod author. For instance, you seem to be accusing some mod authors of being selfish. Good, the best art is made for the artist, not the audience. Art and mods should be selfish. The viewers are just visitors like in a museum, and sometimes art in a museum gets moved to a back room, never to be seen by the visitors again. It's just how things have always been, are and will always be. Also, people move on. I make things sometimes and then either stop playing the game or stop using assets on which the mod depends (such as CBBE in Fallout 4). From that point forward I cannot support the mod. Is that selfish? Yes, and I'm glad of it because I do not wish to be a slave to my past. And I do not expect any mod author or artist to be a slave to his or her past.

  8. I've blocked many people over the years on several different forums, and not once have I experienced what you describe. However, if someone is that aggressive, I do report them to moderators at the same time I block them. While blocking someone on its own is just for your own peace of mind not to see their hogwash, the moderators are the actual protection from true personal attacks. Also, there's one thing only you can do: don't give power to monsters Only you can let the words of a monster affect you. It is necessary to simply not care what they think. Yes, block them for your peace, but block them in your head as well.

  9. Agreed. Would like to see the option to switch back to the old style for those who wish to still use it. I like the idea with now having more favorites you can assign to the row, but the new style is currently harder and less effective to quickly navigate with. One of the reasons for it being less effective is having favorite games organized in columns of 6, whereas with the old style you had all the games organized from left to right in alphabetical order. That was quicker. If we got the ability to customize how it's organized and could select to have all favorites placed together horizontally like the old UI style, then that alone would be a good improvement. And also have the ability to set your own custom ordering for the favorites so that you can more quickly select which game you want to open.

  10. In regards to the selected game indicator, a max-width property of 8rem (3cm/1.1inches) is incredibly tiny. Set the max width to something like 17rem. This is what it looks like without that property / at 17rem: Obviously the search bar suffers due to the expansion of the game selector. In order to rectify that, just have the search expand in an animationy way while the game selection gets compressed. Alternatives are: - Replace the "X" in the game selection with a dropdown and merge it with the Games tab. I dont see a reason why these should be separate, and the "X" has the same functionality as the nexus logo next to it anyway. - Delimit the navbar elements so that the nexus logo and game selection use the outer left, the tabs are located in the center and the other things are located in the outer right.

  11. Ah, after more digging, I think I found my problem. ZaZ Animation Pack is missing ragdoll effects for Rabbits and Chickens. Removing "Haredeath" and "Chickendeath" from Zaz fixed this issue. I used SSEedit to remove them.

There's nothing for it but to think laterally and place something in the MVM that will fix the temporal distortion. Time going all non-linear is fascinating but it's awkward... specially when you have arrangements for next week and then find out they've all occurred at once, yesterday... sigh... 13. Your crash is facegen related, possibly to the above dds file. What you can do to fix it is to search for 00000C63.dds in your mod manager or windows mod install folder to see what mod installed it, then reinstalling that mod might help. If you can't find any mod of this kind, go over your NPC enhancer mods, skin mods, hair mods, and mods that change the appearance of NPCs and disable them until you find the offending mod..

It's a good thing there are variations of mod managers. It isn't a competition. It's about playing games, not being better than the next person on the internet

  19. Hmmmm. It's sort of a prerequisite to meet some people to be friends with them. And if you can make connections with people on-line then actually you have the skills to do that in reality - whether you realise that or not. Sometimes it's easy to miss happiness and it whizzes by you. I've mentioned ad nauseam that I had treatment for cancer. Chemo isn't the nicest thing so I used to make myself notice three positive things every day... sometimes it was a bit of a struggle... but I always hit the three... even if one of them was managing to eat something (I was obsessed with potato crisps and pizza - salt and sugar - and that makes me laugh now). Just finding something worth looking at ... sunsets and sunrises are good... as are flowers or anything green and living* made me feel better about it all. There's a loft of life you've got out there to do yet. In your position I wouldn't waste it with sadness. I'd be dodging the sadness as much as possible... Sadness is pretty determined if you let it. And yes, you've guess it - I dodge sadness now as much as I can and I steer clear of anyone or anything who tries to give it to me... * (even Vulcans and Martians if you can find them)

  20. Maybe it's me but modding a game isn't for the feint of heart - because modding at it's very core is about creating and managing conflicts. The more mods they add, the more conflict they create, and the more they need to have a solid foundation to manage all those conflicts they are creating. In other words, people need to understand they are RESPONSIBLE for their own load order and game stability - because virtually no two gamers will have the exact same system and the exact same load order. If they don't want Responsibility (and a lot of people nowadays simply don't - they shift blame and delegate) - then they probably should just play the game as it was intended to be played with no mods. ----- I went through a lot of growing pains with Skyrim and TBH I probably have a novice level of modding skill. The difference is I know my limitations - and I tailor my load order accordingly so I don't exceed them. ----- Just my 3 wooden nickels.

  24. @DirebearCoat Be careful what you wish for - I have a sleep mod that causes an NPC to join my char when sleeping in a double bed. But, that NPC is driven to close the bedroom door (and any open display cases nearby) before settling down to sleep. When I have multiple followers through NFF, other NPCs open the door to enter, which prompts the sleeping buddy to get back up, and close the door. If it has been closed already, the buddy will open and close the door. I have given this process a name - DOOR WARS.

  26. Thx. Interest in those theories is a good exercise for our mind; as well you know. I accept the idea that Memory Lane is a path we build as we live. I accept the idea that our discoveries are what interests us. I suggest that when someone we find left a path, while we are following it we walk alongside each other along the way. While we are investigating others paths, that could be the makings of a story that could make them immortal on that level? In your thinking is it plausible that as long as someone living remembers our story we live like an immortal? Could immortality be what is known as our written record as well as a living person's memory, of all our lifetime and our achievements?

  27. The new UI styles are visually nicer after 9 years, I love them. Especially for the forum and menus. Unfortunately the UX has gone backwards and it hurts. First the profile page and mod tiles, now the navigation. I can't really fathom some of the changes. Eg: favourites, which I use every day. Even if you wanted to show more games, doing it in columns with a massive waste of space around each side isn't the way to go. It's organised poorly and harder to use. There are many ways to rejig it, responsively, to make it better for usability and to increase the amount of games visible. And using an 'X' as a navigation device to send the user to the home page? These things didn't come up as issues during testing? UX experts approved them? It's fundamentally flawed. The rationale on the previous page is full of holes and simple things are being overcomplicated. It's also a shame that a lot of the early thoughts from 2015 never made it into this space, like showing the most popular or newly added games in the games menu (so they're easy to add), or having a filter you can type into to add other games without having to navigate away from the page. It highlights game mod pages people might otherwise never see. It'd be super useful and increase visibility. And that was in 2015. Come on fellas.

  30. IMO tooltips are for learnability not for usability, and they are poor for accessibility. If I have to mouse over it to figure out what the information a visual element is telling me, why have it try to say the game name at all until moused over? I am not a fan of this change. This is a step backwards for usability.

  31. How am I supposed to know what game it is being filtered by if it shows only 9 characters of the game name?
    3 points
  32. I understand your dilemma, and you can't please everyone. However, what we have now is overly confusing because the same ribbon is used on all pages. What do you think happens when you are looking at a particular mod page and click the X button? Oh, you are being taken to the home page of Nexus Mods... How is that even relevant? And how is it different from clicking the Nexus Mods site icon just to the left of it? When I am looking at a particular mod page, I *know* it is filtered per game, what's more, it is filtered down to this one particular mod! The X button makes no sense there at all. The same as the game button next to it. I would remove that whole button completely, game and X - that's what the Games drop down is for, right next to it. Combine them, essentially, as @Synthlight was suggesting above.
    3 points
  33. It pretty much fails at this since there is still no indication that it is a filter rather than a navigation marker. Anyone who didn't know about the filtering already will have no idea that it is being used to filter anything. If it, at least, was a drop-down that allowed you to switch between your favorited games it would have some functionality beyond what was already there before.
    3 points
  34. This was mentioned in an earlier message, but it's also my biggest issue with it. The "X" button is... annoying and unneeded. If you want to go to the site root (which you usually don't) you can click the logo next to it. It would be much better to merge it with the games drop down so there's extra space to show the full name. Here's what I mean: (A not so great mockup but you get the point.) The two don't need to be separate. Merge them and: - There's more space for the title. - The unneeded 'X' button is now a drop down button and opens what the 'games' button does now. - There now 'one' button/space for games and not two separate buttons. - If you really need a 'close' button, put it in the drop down? As for the drop down itself, I really don't like how small the icons are now. The previous horizontal row with large icons was much easier to use and nicer to look at. There's so much dead space on the current one. Maybe go back to the horizontal layout with two or three rows?

  36. Good news for the residents of Pelican Town - We're excited to open up the latest build of the Nexus Mods App to the Stardew Valley community! Important Before playing with the App, you need to know a few things. Please don't skip over this information as it may negatively impact your experience. This is alpha software, meaning it is still very early in development and may have bugs or issues that could break your mod setup. We've done our best to patch up any major problems, but there will always be a few "gotchas" we haven't accounted for. The app only works on Windows (10+) or Linux. MacOS support is coming later! The current build only supports Stardew Valley on Steam or GOG.com - more games are planned to be added soon, so don't worry if you don't see your favourites yet! Please only use the app on a clean installation of Stardew Valley. This means removing SMAPI and any mods you have installed before managing it with the app. This is important as the state of the game folder will be the state the app will roll back to when mods are removed. As we release new versions you may be required to reset your loadout and start over. We'll do our best to avoid this though and it won't be a requirement in the final release! The app will work on Steam Deck but the experience isn't optimised yet, let us know how you get on! What can I do with the app? The Nexus Mods App is available as an alpha pre-release on Windows or Linux and includes these features: Install mods for Stardew Valley on Steam and GOG (Xbox Game Pass support is coming later). Log in to your Nexus Mods account and download mods directly from the website. Cleanly enable and disable mods in your loadout. Easily roll your game to a non-modded state by un-managing the game or uninstalling the app. Get diagnostic information about common issues in your load order, including: Missing dependencies SMAPI or game version issues Potentially dangerous mod installed (XNB edits) In-app editing of config files (e.g. config.json) Planned Features This version is a development snapshot and doesn't represent the final version so some common features will be missing but we already plan to add these in later. Some examples of these include: Multiple loadouts (modlists) per game. Updating mods. Deleting downloaded mods from your Mod Library. Support for the Xbox Game Pass (PC) version of Stardew Valley. Sorting, searching and filtering the table views. "Rewind" - a global undo feature that will allow you to walk back changes to your loadout one at a time or jump back to a specific point in time. Collections support More games! Known Issues There are a few quirks we're already aware of in this release build, we've already got plans to address them: When uninstalling the app, the main UI will appear on the screen for a few seconds. You don't need to touch anything, this is just the app making sure it has undone all changes it made to your games. In future builds this will happen without the UI showing. Table sort orders do not save. We'll be properly recording this preference in future. Get the Nexus Mods App! You can download the latest build from here: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/NexusMods.App/releases Feedback and Support Your feedback is our compass, so please don't be shy in letting us know your thoughts. There are several ways you can get in touch with us: Join the App Discord - Create a thread on the forums - Raise an issue on GitHub

  37. We have been in regular contact with the FOLON team and after discussing it with them we don't feel that it would be a good experience for users to host it on our platform. We came to this decision for the following reasons: 1. User experience for free users - The mod is so big that free users would have a subpar experience trying to download it. The mod was estimated to be around 40GB. At the minimum speed for free users (1.5MB/s when using an adblocker) this would take around 7.5 hours to complete. The download links we provide expire after 4 hours, so if there was a blip at their ISP (or ours) after that time, they would have to restart the whole download. While we may be able to address this in future, the scale of the changes were not something we thought was reasonable for a single - although awesome - mod. 2. Bandwidth costs - Serving large files is incredibly expensive. We estimated that it would cost us $50,000-$100,000 to serve Fallout London to the community. While we may have made a sizable chunk of this money back from free users buying Premium just to get the mod, we don't want users to feel they have to buy it to get a working download. As a result of this decision, we connected the FOLON mod team with our friends at GOG.com who have infrastructure far more suited to the file sizes involved. Although we can't host it, we still plan to support the release of Fallout London on Nexus Mods. Everyone at Nexus Mods HQ is really excited to get their hands on this mod!

  38. That would make sense. Going back to the front page only results in frantically clicking the Back button because it is not what was intended. Agreed. If the intent of the abbreviated game button was to show filtering, it was lost on me. Besides, when you click Mods, Collections or Media drop-downs, you already have a large game image there, that makes it clear that you're looking at filtered searches. The tiny abbreviated button does not make it clear and it is entirely lost on mobile. And yes, that button is tiny if your zoom factor is large or your screen is small.

  40. Personally I don't like the X button mainly because as a user of the previous navigation site where the favorited would have an X that makes me believe it'll unfavorite if I click it and seeing as how the X is still there on the favorites list it just makes me afraid of that button even though I already know what it does On another note I am not a fan mainly for phone, before I could click the drop down and have the games right there for quick navigation now its 2 button step and rather clunky, not a problem on pc but really frustrating for phone because I gotta click the navigation burger icon then games THEN I see my favorites.. its just no longer smooth experience there, pc its generally the same just different look but phone it changed everything

  41. Consistency to the detriment of quality is a poor excuse. I too rather dislike the tiny icons in the Games drop-down, the unnecessary and annoying X button next to the game name, the abbreviation of the game name itself... I never use Collections, but you just very significantly downgraded mods pages for me.

  42. I like it. The book would be published after the apprentice pays the price for his outright theft (far beyond mere plagiarism) and its binding would be colored closer to the hue of Aetherium. The postscript of the book might even mention how he assaulted Katria's defender (your character) and paid for ruining Katria's life with his own. All things considered, Katria may well have been a professional acquaintance of Calcelmo's anyway.
    2 points
  43. Has anyone ever noticed that after the end of Lost to the Ages when Katria is at peace (or your companion with the proper mod) you can end up confronting and slaughtering that &&^%(^&%ing apprentice of hers, you remember, the one that wrote The Aetherium Wars and took the credit for her life's work? Yeah, him! After that, according to Bethesda, the record... is never set straight. Literally the conclusion of the quest description in the wiki entry is: "He is a very powerful elemental mage and can be quite challenging, but in the end, the only thing left to tell the tale of the four Dwemer city-states and the rare, luminescent crystal will be the tome The Aetherium Wars." Please refer to my topic title--THE HELL IT IS! God knows there's an entire industry of un-nerfing the quests of Skyrim. This needs fixing. An option to take the tale and tell it (preferably while wearing the Crown or whichever item) at the Bards' College so they can do their damn job and get history down correctly is clearly called for!

  44. The X button seems pretty unnecessary on the game's bar. You could just click the NexusMods logo directly on the other side of the element to do the same thing. The only thing the X button seems to do is make it even harder to read what domain you are on. For games that are numbered sequentially this just means you don't even know at a glance. In this picture, you might as well not have a game name at all, really, since there are 5 games on your site that all start with this same name. And on a small-width window it's really difficult to see anything at all in the mods menu (as stated above)

I ban Drakefell01 because he is the first person to get banned while I use a new computer that zings, shows strobing lights, has a cooling system for the CPU, 32 GB of RAM, and a Nvidia RTX 4070 with 12 GB of VRAM. It is set up so it can adjust to get the best performance for huge hungry games. Back when I first saw this rig was 2021. Salt Lake City was the closest place to get one at the time. They were sold out in two days back in 2021. I got this one two days ago. It was 1/3 what they cost back in 2021 when I found it at WallMart. Even though it is 3 years old it was brand new. I feel like throwing a computer LAN party.. None of you live close enough that I can get long enough cables to reach your computers. It's so incredible I fear the fate of becoming totally into gaming so much I will never be seen by family and friends again, or, even by non-computer users. What will my family and closest friends do I if I slip off spending all my time playing video games. Oh! My! They will have to pry my computer keyboard from my cold dead hands, instead of a weapon.
