F1 showcases a fierce rivalry among the world’s premier automotive brands. The vehicles, renowned for reaching speeds approximately 360 km/h (224 mph), boast 1.6L hybrid turbocharged engines that can rev up to 15,000 RPM. A standard Formula One race spans roughly 305 km (190 mi) and concludes within 1.5 to 2 hours.
According to figures released by Formula One management, the 2020 season had a cumulative TV audience of 1.5 billion, compared to 1.9 billion in 2019; an average of about 90 million viewers per grand prix. Fans were unable to attend the events in-person due to restrictions relating to the COVID-19 pandemic until late in the 2021 season. The last time when the Australian Grand Prix was held in Adelaide, Formula 1 saw the most people ever in attendance, with an estimated 520,000 people over the course of the three-day race weekend.
