Hi there Alex, and first I want to thank you for your work at AfC. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. Now, an editor came to the AfC help desk asking about the above article, and while I haven't commented there yet I just want to tell you that formatting is generally not a valid reason to decline an article. In this case the submission was nowhere near being accepted anyway (reference and promotional stuff), and not only is wikifying very minor but just saying "This is not in correct format" really doesn't help the submitter. In the future, please try not to use that as a decline reason unless the article is just so abysmally bad that it's unreadable (if there are other concerns, use those and if the article is good, fix the format yourself or leave a comment saying that you think it should be approved once another reviewer fixes it up). Cheers, Nolelover Talk·Contribs 14:30, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This has popped up at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Myron Orfield. Again, I appreciate your work but very minor formatting fixes and a lack of categories is not a reason to decline, just like they aren't a reason to AfD a real article. If you feel comfortable, please make those fixes yourself. If not, please don't review the article. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 22:40, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of academics

[edit]

Hi Alex,

Thank you for your work at Articles for Creation. However, when declining an article submission, please look for relevant notability guidelines first, for example WP:PROFESSOR before making a comment like this. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 20:01, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New AfC article

[edit]

You accepted Farouk Adatia for creation. Per WP:POLITICIAN, candidates are generally not notable. Also, Facebook cannot be used as a reference when talking about third parties. When the article was pushed to main space, it was tagged with 5 tags. I've noticed some other you created are also being tagged, have major copy edit problems, etc. Bgwhite (talk) 21:03, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to WikiProject AfC

[edit]

Hi, and welcome to WikiProject Articles for creation! We are a group of editors who work together on the Articles for creation and Files for upload pages.

A few tips that you might find helpful:

  • Please take time to fully read the reviewers' instructions before reviewing submissions.
  • The reviewers' talk page is the best place to ask for help or advice. You might like to watchlist this page, and you are encouraged to take part in any discussion that comes up.
  • Article submissions that need reviewing can be found in Category:Pending AfC submissions and there is also a useful list which is maintained by a bot.
  • You might wish to add {{AFC status}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions. There is also a project userbox. If you haven't done so already, please consider adding your name to the list of participants.
  • Several of our members monitor the #wikipedia-en-help connect IRC channel, and you are welcome to join in to ask Wikipedia-related questions.
  • The IRC channel #wikipedia-en-afc connect is used occasionally for internal discussion regarding the Articles for Creation process, and also serves as a recent changes feed, displaying all edits made in the Articles for Creation namespace.
  • The help desk is the place where new editors can ask questions about their submissions. You are welcome to help in answering their questions.

Once again, welcome to the project. Pol430 talk to me 21:27, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Intent is to create a Article Stub

[edit]

Re: My submission for "Willpower paradox" It is meant to be a stub at this point - I will improve on it later. In any case, isn't the article as good as Inventor's paradox?

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Don't know if you are still around

[edit]

Hi, I come here to leave a message to you mainly because I found out you were the creater of the page SAP HANA. This page was recently deleted by the community due to multiple reasons. I am wondering if you are still interested in helping the page back up. Thanks.2A00:FE00:BFFE:2201:0:0:0:400 (talk) 22:01, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
