From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, whoever reads this. My name is James Dixon, I am 14. If you want to leave a message for me please do so on my talk page, not here.

I go to King Edward VI Grammar School (Chelmsford), which has an article on wikipedia for no apparent reason. My favourite subject is maths mainly because I am good at it.

I am a mathematician, an ornithologist, an entomologist, a lepidopterist and a couple of other things related to nature. I do bird ringing, which I enjoy a lot. I am very interested in the Riemann Hypothesis.

I am NOT A stereotypical teenager. I hate pop music and know almost nothing about it. My bedroom is not covered with pictures of football players and pop stars. I do not object to getting up early, I do every week for bird ringing, especially in the summer.

I am not related to James Dixon.

I also have an obsession for userboxes, as you may already have noticed. If you see good ones please let me know.

If you want to know anything else about me look at the userboxes.

What I Do On Wikipedia

[edit]

I mainly write pages about nature and that sort of thing and a few about authors. A lot of the pages I write are about British dragonflies, but I haven't been creating many pages recently. I spend most of my time categorizing and improving bird and fungus articles. Also, one day I got bored and created a load of pages about asteroids. I am number 3623 on WP:WBE

Pages I Started

[edit]

These are some pages I started.

Pages I've improved

[edit]

Here are some pages I've made large improvements to.

Wikiprojects

[edit]

I'm in Lepidoptera, Arthropods, Birds and Fungi wikiprojects because I'm interested in all of them.

Birds

[edit]

Work

[edit]

I do a lot of work on bird articles, mainly categorizing and improving. I live in Britain and as most of the birds in Europe have articles about them it is rare for me to start a new bird article.

Assessment

[edit]

This is one of the things that puzzles me. I haven't been able to find an official assessment scale so I generally use this one.

Rating Reasoning
Low Species, Subspecies or monotypic genera
Mid Genera
High Bird Families
Top Orders and anything above that

My assessment of horrible things like subfamilies varies from article to article, usually depending on the size and notability of the group.

Fungi

[edit]

I am working on some boletes at the time of writing.

Lepidoptera

[edit]

I am working on List of British macro-moths (slowly) on a user sub-page. I am also writing pages about British moths.

Arthropods

[edit]

I am working on categorising insects occasionally, but my time is taken up with other Wikiprojects quite a lot.

Barnstars
