NASDAQ

[edit]

There is no (NASDAQ: VLSI) symbol now. A5b 15:47, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I am not sure of the exact date when the VTI logo was dropped. The VTI logo was used consistently between 1982 and 1985. It appears on the company's 3rd quarter (September 30) 1985 report to shareholders. But it is absent on the 1st quarter (March 30) 1986 report to shareholders. A new logo (a series of parallel diagonal rays forming a stylized letter V inscribed in a circle) appears on the shareholder report for the first quarter 1987 and this logo continued in use for the life of the company. So it appears that the VTI logo was phased out around the end of 1985. Tomtab (talk) 19:37, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia

[edit]

A somewhat trivial comment on the Trivia section. I doubt that Don McMillan's employee number was 36, as claimed here and in one of his videos. I started working at VLSI Technology in 1981 and my employee number was 39. My best information (based on company phone lists) is that Don started in 1985. So his number would have been much higher than 36.Tomtab (talk) 22:33, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I just went ahead and removed the section altogether as it was unsourced, and much more suitable information to have in McMillan's article instead (where it's already mentioned). On your information, while I have no reason to doubt you, it would unfortunately be a form original research, so we wouldn't use it. EditorInTheRye (talk) 07:02, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
