overcoming those afflictions

[edit]

There is a note in the article about "when he seemed he might be overcoming those afflictions." However, the only affliction mentioned is schizophrenia. Precisely how does one overcome schizophrenia? I think the sentence should probably be reworded to remove the "recovery" part. People do not "recover" from schizophrenia. ... aa:talk 22:54, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the main reason people historically deteriorate from it is lack of care, usually as the person refuses care, or if they are locked up with older meds (or none). nowadays, the prognosis is highly variable, with some less severe cases recovering very well, and even intransigent cases gaining back some/significant functionality (though with some declines as one ages). its pretty much true the illness doesnt go away, one isnt "cured". However, combine it with heavy drug use (which may or may not precipitate the illness), and the prognosis is not good. He didnt sound like one of the more hopeful ones, to be sure.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 04:23, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

bright joyful heart

[edit]

When Skip was in productive exchange with his energy and music, at points of success for Moby Grape, he was a bright and joyful heart. It was a delight to see him perform. I am searching for a way to get some of this feeling into the article. Rainbow-five (talk) 21:12, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
