Param veer chakra

[edit]

The mention of param veer chakra for Raj Reddy is incorrect. It is awarded to military persons serving for India. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Phoe6 (talkcontribs) 07:04, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File:Raj Reddy .jpg On Wikimedia Commons – Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Raj Reddy .jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

That file no longer seems to exist on Wikimedia Commons, so I believe it was deleted for some reason, probably because of copyright concerns. —Megalibgwilia (talk) 17:01, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I notice that a file has just been uploaded as "Rajreddy.jpg" by User:Praveen Garimella. I get the impression that the same images are getting uploaded multiple times (perhaps as "RReddy.jpg", "Rajreddy.jpg", "RajReddy.JPG", or "Dr RajReddy CMU.jpg" on Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons), and then deleted repeatedly for some copyright status issue. The user User:Praveen Garimella that uploaded the file has said that he is the copyright holder. However, it looks like something similar has happened before involving other users, and the photo looks rather professional. See, for example, the previous image deletion discussions above on this Talk page. There seems to have been some previous discussion of images of Prof. Reddy involving blocked user User:Srinimisha, User:Sanaullah Mohd and User:Muhandes around 21 July 2011 and 19 August 2011. —Megalibgwilia (talk) 17:01, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files/2014 June 9#Photo of Raj Reddy. I think it's that same photo again. I'm not sure about the previous photo used in the article either. Megalibgwilia (talk) 21:03, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
