Note that the co-ordinates of Mt. Taibai in the infobox are approximate - they are the nearest I could get using Multimap - if anyone can do better please do :-) Also the article is in need of a map showing the location of the range, and possibly Mt. Taibai - if someone with the relevant expertise could look into it that would be great. TicketMan - Talk - contribs 21:27, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article move

[edit]

I just noticed that this article had been WP:BOLDly moved to Qinling last month. While it is technically the name of the mountain range in Chinese, the WP:COMMONNAME in English is Qin Mountains. This can be seen in an well-researched sources, most notably including [[1]]. Qinling does appear in some English-language publications, but usually where it has been poorly or improperly translated from Chinese. It is especially more prevalent in older sources, but the contemporary common name in English remains Qin Mountains. --NoGhost (talk) 21:32, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@NoGhost: "Qinling" is far more common than "Qin Mountains" in English literature, by multiple orders of magnitude. See Google ngram. "Qin Mountains" is too rare even to register on ngram. I've moved the article back to "Qinling". -Zanhe (talk) 00:09, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
