Arrest

[edit]

I have removed a paragraph from the lead that says he was arrested once. It didn't even say what he was arrested for, and it shouldn't be added back in until that information is supplied. StAnselm (talk) 23:55, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

And indeed, the reference supplied doesn't include the info, and makes the barest reference to Zwerin. StAnselm (talk) 00:08, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
We don't require your demands to be met. We require references, and there are many. The references say he was arrested, and that's good enough. For you to remove it utterly because you weren't satisfied that it explained the exact charge to your satisfaction? Hogwash. Do not remove the referenced statement without consensus to do so. Doc talk 00:14, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, can you provide a reference that says what he was arrested for? No - it's not good enough simply saying that he was arrested. Sure the claim (which I see you added yourself) has been in the article for a few years, but being referenced is not in itself a sufficient reason for inclusion. StAnselm (talk) 00:29, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
"Zwerin and the others were charged with disturbing the peace."[1] There's also two quotes from Zwerin about the incident. Doc talk 00:36, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I will add that to the article. StAnselm (talk) 00:46, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Cool! Believe me, I only added it because it was a very notable incident that he got swept up in: the first time a rock star was arrested onstage. He viewed the arrest as a joke, and the mention of it here is not an attempt to smear him, but only to note his place in pop culture history. Cheers :) Doc talk 00:50, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Yes, that was exactly my concern - casual references to criminal activity. StAnselm (talk) 02:47, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There's actually more than the two quotes from him about that night in the Stephen Davis source, now that I look further back. I hadn't seen this book before, and I will (at some point) use Zwerin's valuable first-hand recollections to bolster the section concerning the "New Haven incident" in The Doors article. Zwerin was undoubtedly never ashamed of this arrest, as it was a total sham that wound up being historic. I appreciate your concerns, and no hard feelings! Doc talk 02:57, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
