Just out of curiosity, why are half of the article's references in all caps? Nonagonal Spider (talk) 20:56, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I thought GGG was the codon for glycine?

[edit]

If GGG is the codon for glycine, why did poly-G (GGGGGGGGGGGGG...) proteins produce nothing at all? Is GGG a stop codon for E. coli? Could someone please clarify this? --121.7.203.206 (talk) 05:27, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Although GGG does code for glycine, Nirenberg was not able to get poly-G to produce a peptide chain because the poly-G chain stuck to itself to much and the ribosomes could not process it. Treharne (talk) 03:36, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why does it stick to itself so much? Double sharp (talk) 10:27, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
