IPv6 ready?

[edit]

The last time I tested it, a couple of months ago, trying to initiate a registrar-less session over IPv6 resulted invariably in a Java error message. Using Linphone to contact Jitsi over a point-to-point IPv6 link yielded a incoming call notice but no pop-up window, no ringtone, and no ability to answer.--2001:470:1D:3B6:0:0:0:8 (talk) 17:55, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Jitsi. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Atlassian

[edit]

Perhaps Atlassian should be mentioned more prominently in the infobox or initial section? https://www.atlassian.com/blog/archives/atlassian-acquires-blue-jimp-jitsi-org Nemo 10:41, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Atlassian sold Jitsi to 8x8 Inc. in 2018. 2001:A61:B81:6801:8175:FF3F:8140:C8F9 (talk) 08:02, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

JitsiJitsi Desktop – the Jitsi project has expanded to include many open source repositories that can loosely be categorized under several products. The original SIP Communicator product was rebranded to Jitsi as mentioned in this article. Around 2015 it was rebranded again to Jitsi Desktop to avoid confusion with the Jitsi Videobridge project. Requesting move to Jitsi Desktop to reflect this change and avoid confusion with the general set of projects. For evidence see https://jitsi.org, https://desktop.jitsi.org/, https://github.com/jitsi, https://community.jitsi.org. Chadwallacehart (talk) 12:02, 29 June 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. • Support. The title needs to correctly identify the scope (WP:PRECISE).  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  01:46, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment as this is about a company and the movement of the name has certain branding/marketing implications (i.e. helps SEO etc), I'd like to remind about WP:COI and WP:PAID and disclose as required. As a side note, the article has certain deficiencies, such as relying heavily on primary sources. This should be kept in mind. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 08:30, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I am unconvinced about this move request. As it seems, Jitsi (the so called suite of projects) has grown out of what started with the product that is now known as Jitsi Desktop. The article mentions some of those developments. The article as it stands today is deficient with most references actually primary sources. Reviewed on its own I am not even convinced that notability is shown. It may exist, but the article does not make the case well. Clearly, moving the current article from Jitsi to Jitsi Desktop is to make way for a new article for the suite of projects. Unless notability for a) the suite of projects and b) Jitsi Desktop as stand alone product can be shown, I am remain critical of such a move. Besides, all Wikipedia internal articles that mention "Jitsi" (all 23 of them), seem to refer to the legacy application - so confusion seems limited as is. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 17:36, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Web browser Extension for Jitsi

[edit]

Greetings, For my Chrome-based browser (Viasat) I needed to add Extension "Jitsi Meetings" to get connection to work. Wondering if article could use a Section about "Browser extensions"? Discussion appreciated. Regards, JoeHebda (talk) 14:58, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What is SFU ?

The article, as of today, mentions "It is SFU and only forwards...". What does it mean ?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Orzelf (talkcontribs) 20:16, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
