SOE

[edit]

Any effort to confirm Hawkins work with SOE during WW2? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Goon (talkcontribs) 15:50, January 11, 2006 (UTC) --Sarah Ewart (Talk) 15:18, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccuracy re ´Victim´

[edit]

The info about Hawkins potential lead part in the film Victim, claims that (being more liberal minded than people think) he sought the role. In fact the IMDB file on him states that he was sought for the role, but turned it down because it might conflict with his macho image. Quite a different slant altogether, so unless anyone disagrees or thinks that IMDB got it wrong, I´ll change it after a suitable wait--Jabberwock359 (talk) 18:40, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As child actor

[edit]

Was he the same Jack Hawkins who appeared in the first production of Bernard Shaw's 'Saint Joan' in 1924? 81.158.174.209 (talk) 23:39, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comedy

[edit]

Jack Hawkins appeared in one episode of the TV "Hancock Half Hour" as himself.

I thought that Tony Hancock seemed slightly awed by Hawkins but Hawkins certainly raised a few laughs as a serious actor taking advice on his performance from Hancock.

Footage of this episode may still exist inside a TV archive. AT Kunene (talk) 09:32, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comma?

[edit]

Is a comma before "CBE" (Order of the British Empire) necessary? -- Hamid Hassani (talk) 20:39, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
