Actual genre?

[edit]

Is this an actual legitimate genre of music? I'm not quite sure what to think because I've never heard of such a genre. There might be references somewhere but will they intend that this is an actual subgenre of folk music? or music in general? When I searched "industrial folk music" I was expecting this to redirect to neofolk or even have an article on a merge of industrial music and folk rock. The reason why I thought it would redirect to neofolk is because the genre makes use of industrial music to an extent so I was expecting this to redirect there. I was confused when I saw actual references to industrial worker songs thinking the "industrial" part was the industrial music genre. Maybe a hatnote should be added for neofolk maybe? The genre is legitimate, although the title is harder to pin down. This article needs to be rationalised to fit with the one on work songs, some in-line citations to support the term and a general clean up, which I will undertake as soon as I can. As suggested above a hatnote is probably the best solution to prevent any confusion, with a redirect to neo-folk.--Sabrebd (talk) 07:49, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
