Hey people - guess what?

[edit]

That picture that's up there now is NOT of George Coe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.138.205.180 (talk) 21:13, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Here's George Coe. Ernie and Bert fan (talk) 15:27, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I know George. That is not him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.202.198.194 (talk) 04:30, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I may have put that original note here, but can't recall. I do recall noticing that it wasn't George Coe. At that time it was a picture of Andrew Duncan, who was also on the first SNL show. He was the pitchman in the Triple-Trac ad late in the show. I guess it was understandable though. Back then they did look a lot alike.

SNL onscreen credits

[edit]

I just viewed the openings of the first several shows, and George Coe was given onscreen credit for the first show along with Michael O'Donoghue & the famous 7 - Chevy, Danny, John, Garrett, Jane, Larraine & Gilda. But the 2nd show hosted by Paul Simon only had the famous 7. The 3rd show hosted by Rob Reiner had Michael O'Donoghue listed again but no George Coe. And then it seems that from the 4th show forward, it may have been only the famous 7. George Coe certainly made appearances after the first show, but it appears he was credited as a cast member only for the 1st show.
