Nickname?

[edit]

Re: this edit, I am not familiar with "Toffees" but it strikes me as highly unusual for a North American sports team to have a "nickname" and a real name that differ (unless it's something like "Habs" for "Canadiens"). Powers T 21:13, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Look at the club logo... it says FC Buffalo, and the club's legal registered name with the NPSL is FC Buffalo. The "Blitzers" thing came as a result of an online poll which Wolf Blitzer jumped on. It is not part of their formal name. Manchester United are the Red Devils, Arsenal FC are the Gunners, Everton FC are the Toffees, but none of these nicknames are part of the club's formal name. FC Buffalo is the same. See FC Dallas, Toronto FC and Miami FC for similar precedents in North America. --JonBroxton (talk) 21:28, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Affiliations?

[edit]

Where are these affiliations coming from? An English football team and two triple-A baseball teams? Might need some citations or pruning. Pirmas697 (talk) 20:13, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
