The 1960 operation should probably be split off onto its own separate article. Also, in the Bright Star 2000 section, the list has 33 nations (not 32), and it doesn't mention which Congo (DR Congo or Congo-Brazzaville) participated.Yewlongbow (talk) 07:37, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Clarifying years

[edit]

The "Early Exercises" section says "The Bright Star exercises are named after the fiscal year during which they occur; consequently, they take place in the calendar year before their number would indicate. For example, Bright Star 95 actually took place in the fall of 1994."

This is contradicted in the next two sections, which say it was conducted in 1995 and 1997. Those are the only odd-numbered entries, and should probably be re-labelled 96 and 97.

Not an Operation

[edit]

Bright Star is an exercise, not an operation. In an operation, one does military actions. In an exercise, one practices or trains to conduct military actions. CsikosLo (talk) 17:28, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
