General he served under

[edit]

Army General Henry Ware Lawton was slain in 1899 in the Philippines. He was probably the General Lawton on whose staff officer Edwards served in 1899. New International Encyclopedia probably contains a typographical error. Time will tell. GhostofSuperslum 04:17, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment

[edit]

I have re-assessed this as B per the Milhist checklist. I have removed the empty parameters from the references as they only take up space.(I removed 4kb of text) I would recommend a read of WP:LEAD as the current lead is very short. It needs to summarise the article in a couple of paragraphs. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to leave a note on my talkpage. Regards. Woody (talk) 14:32, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a few things. I'll put the article on hold and pass it when the issues are fixed. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 23:04, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article looks good now, so I'll pass it as a GA. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 04:14, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Silver Star

[edit]

I see that several sources (which I just cited) refer to Edwards receiving the Silver Star, which would make me think that Category:Recipients of the Silver Star would be appropriate here. However, the article links to Citation Star, which might be more accurate (I don't know) but which doesn't have its own category. I would appreciate it if someone solves this discrepancy. --1990'sguy (talk) 15:25, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
