Chris Paul plays for the Golden State Warriors from 2023- Present 71.193.7.6 (talk) 00:59, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. (and yes, a reliable source IS required here) Xan747 (talk) 01:31, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Xan747: I was able to find a couple of websites which recently state that Chris Paul was acquired by the Golden State Warriors, mainly [1], and [2]. USA Today is considered reliable, so I will have to make a note to update this article later. Deauthorized. (talk) 01:39, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Deauthorized: The USA Today piece says "a person familiar with details told USA TODAY Sports", so this falls under WP:RSBREAKING and anonymous sources. —Bagumba (talk) 04:34, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that's why I'm holding off as of right now, it's not official yet. I probably should've clarified that in my original comment now that you mention it. Deauthorized. (talk) 04:38, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Scott Foster

[edit]

It's time for the Chris Paul article to mention his feud with NBA official Scott Foster; the problem will be how to do so objectively. Any mention of Foster in an NBA article comes with suspicious speculation, such as accusations of game rigging and officiating bias. Ironically, the latest incident involving the two may end up confirming our worst fears. Here's the rundown: on November 22, Paul was ejected in the Warrior's loss to the Phoenix Suns. In his post-game presser, Paul cited an incident surrounding his son while on the Clippers with Doc Rivers as coach, saying "It's personal." Beyond that, the facts are blank, but we can pinpoint the incident somewhere between 2013 and 2017; Doc Rivers joined the Clippers via coaching trade in 2013, and Paul was traded to the Rockets in 2017. The incident could have even happened during the midst of the Donald Sterling scandal. Sources on the incident here: CBS Sports, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Uproxx

There could even be shared parallels to this incident with one from former official Jake O'Donnell to Clyde Drexler.

Because of this unique inclusion, is there a chance the article will become protected for the time being? ElMeroEse (talk) 19:38, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The last sentence of the “Professional career” section: “On January 5, 2024, Paul fractured his left hand in the third quarter of a 113–109 loss to the Pistons…”. The Warriors did not lose, they actually won this game. 2600:8802:5723:3000:913D:C4A3:8C7:96D1 (talk) 04:37, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Paul signed a 1 year $11 Million contract with the Spurs Qwerty31415926 (talk) 01:25, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: No, he hasn't. "They can't sign them until July 6 at 12:01 EST. But they can speak." – Muboshgu (talk) 01:26, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Woj confirmed it and so did the NBA: https://www.nba.com/news/nba-offseason-every-deal-2024 Sushidude21! (talk) 05:01, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
woj is a REPORTER, he doesn't officially announce anything. Also, that NBA.com link has some deals listed as "officially announced" (see Toronto Raptors section), while Chris Paul is "per multiple reports" HappyBoi3892 (talk) 14:23, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
