This sentence was incomplete so I took it out: In 1966, NAACP leaders fearful that Moore2a3f4r4rrr4e hand responded by breaking up the Philadelphia chapter into smaller branches. Moore presided over the North Philadelphia branch for one year and left the NAACP on uneasy terms with the organization. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.158.127.222 (talk) 22:30, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I am trying to find better sources since the Inquirer article has been misplaced. Aside from the monuments and mural on the avenue that now bears his name, I haven't had much to rely on. Stay tuned... --Pastricide! Non-absorbing 18:59, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Try Matthew J. Countryman, Up South: Civil Rights and Black Power in Philadelphia, (Philadelphia: University of Pennsylvania Press, 2006). The book contains an index with copious entries on C.B. Moore. Dave Golland 18:12, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also try Gerald L. Early, This Is Where I Came In: Black America in the 1960 (Lincoln, NE and London: University of Nebraska Press, 2003), pp. 67-130. Dave Golland (talk) 22:38, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
