Starting point

[edit]

Just a starting point, I intend to edit more over the next few days.

We should probably turn the Alpine slide location list into a table. Marshmoose 20:35, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

US centric

[edit]

This seems to be quite a US-centric article (presumably because it's a rarity)? Not sure whether it would be appropriate to list European locations as I imagine there are so many, but some kind of non-US source/info would be good. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.26.155.137 (talk) 17:43, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Two Pages?

[edit]

I'm not sure where to add my comment. Anyways, should the Alpine Coaster link go to the Alpine Slide article? They are similar but different things.

Tipping

[edit]

I have always suspected they are not tippable, even at maximum speed. The operators would be subject to numerous lawsuits, despite the implicit waiver when purchasing tickets. I can't remember for sure, but I do believe I went all the way down one time w/o applying the brake. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.70.156.141 (talk) 06:28, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've certainly managed to tip one a few times. This was in Germany though, where there is not such a sueing culture. Not sure if the American slides are designed to be tamer? 81.157.250.21 (talk) 22:33, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Merger Proposal: SommerrodelbahnAlpine slide

[edit]

Hi!
I am sure that the articles deal with the same.

I made a Merger Proposal of it.
Yours, Ciciban (talk) 07:41, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think they are the same. The question is what are the WP:COMMONNAMEs in English? Alpine slide and alpine coaster seem to be North American terms. In the UK we seem to call them toboggans, alpine roller coasters or just use the German terms rodelbahn and sommer rodelbahn. What does the rest of the world call them? --Bermicourt (talk) 14:10, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Merge. When merging, the resulting article should note the alternative names for alpine slides. zazpot (talk) 23:02, 10 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
