The information here is distilled from standard guidebooks (Rough Guide, DK, Nelles etc), and agrees with the information in the many websites giving descriptions. If any editor has a reliable academic work to validate and expand the article, it would be good. Also, the graphics are a bit out of date since restoration is continuous, and more recent and better-quality public domain graphics are sought. . . .LinguisticDemographer 16:17, 18 September 2007 (UTC).[reply]

From my memory as a very young child living in Agra in 1934-5, one of the minarets had been destroyed by lightning, and if this is true it has since been rebuilt. There may therefore be pictures of the monument in its damaged state or during the repair works, perhaps in newspaper archives, which might be helpful.
