History

[edit]

Dushan Tepe Street or Farah Abad goes back to the time when Shah Qajar decided to build a road for the use of hunting ground and Dushan Tepe Palace. Farah Abad Street is the same as Dushan Tepe Road, which starts from Dushan Tepe Gate (Shahda Square)), now it has become one of the main streets in the east of Tehran. This street prospered in the 1950s due to the location of the air force barracks in it. During the Iranian Revolution in 1357, the events that happened on this street played an important role in the developments of that time.[2] The crossing of Imam Ali Highway through this street has slightly changed its old structure and shape.[3]
