Description

I'm experiencing a bug on my WordPress website, and I'm not really sure who I should be asking about it. I currently only have one WordPress.org website, so I don't know if others would be able to reproduce the bug or if it's a problem specific to my website. A certain plugin seems to be involved in some way, but it doesn't seem like it's actually a bug in the plugin, since the problem persists when I deactivate all plugins and switch themes. I tried reporting the bug to that plugin's developer anyway and got no response. I couldn't get much help from the support forum either.

When I go to edit certain blog posts on my site, some of the content is missing from the editor. Specifically, anywhere I had put a shortcode for the Easy Footnotes plugin in the middle of a bulleted list, the rest of the list that comes after that shortcode is now gone in most cases. The content is still intact in the most recently published version of the post, but it doesn't show up in the editor at all, and it does disappear from the actual published post if I edit and save the post.

Hello @raabsalom and welcome to WordPress Trac!

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with a shortcode. Although, from what you describe, it seems this is an issue with a plugin. Please note that Core Trac is used for bug reports and enhancements for the WordPress core software, not individual support issues or questions.

I couldn't get much help from the support forum either.

The dedicated WordPress support forums are monitored by a limited number of volunteers trying to address several hundreds of requests. If you still require support for a stagnant support forum post, I would reply to the thread again and describe that you still need further help. Doing so may get more attention to an old thread.

Having said that, I'll reply to one or both of those threads to maybe provide some additional help.

I am going to close this ticket though as it is not relevant to WordPress development.
