Description
When I select any other option in the Permalinks structure either than the default all my permalinks go to 404 pages meaning the permalink structure hasnt been updated.
The .htaccess file has been updated when i update the structure.
So what could it be? I've looked it up on the codex and even used the support forums and but no one could tell me what was wrong.
Could you hel[?

I've contacted my host and they said mod_rewrite has been activated.
Before I had my domain and it was just username.host.com I had the "data and name" based permalinks.
So custom permalinks did work at once point, its only once I got a proper mysitename.com url that the permalinks stopped working.

im1, there isn't enough information here for anyone to assist you, but to guess at the cause. You say you have asked on the support forums, but you haven't provided links to those discussion. You haven't even identified what version of WordPress.
You haven't identified the host, have you asked on the hosts own forums? -- there are likely to be numerous WordPress members.
And submitted a bug ticket isn't the way to escalate help when you don't get an answer to a support request. Also, consider the wide audience when you submit a bug and only with careful consideration of how the issue affects numerous people before setting a priority and severity. Please review http://codex.wordpress.org/Reporting_Bugs before submitting ticckets in the future.
It probably means that your host has not enabled the mod_rewrite module in Apache. It is not a WordPress issue.
