Description

In the classic editor in WordPress, we could select and insert multiple images into a post in one go. But with the introduction of Gutenberg that option is not available.

Even if you install the "classic editor" plugin, this option doesn't exist in the classic editor.

It would be a nice option to have the ability to insert multiple images into a post in one go rather than doing it one by one.

@rdilipk1 Thanks for reaching out, and sorry it took a while for you to receive a reply.

Issues for the Block Editor are being handled over on github where development happens. There's this issue created over that which matches your one:
https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/20315

As this issue is being tracked, I'll close your trac ticket.

Just to add though, there's a way to achieve what you're after with the block editor. If you add a Gallery block you can select images from the media library, and then by clicking on the block icon on the block toolbar an option will be shown for converting the gallery to multiple image blocks. Similarly, the classic block can also be used to do this, it has a 'Convert to Blocks' option which will result in the same.

Even if you install the "classic editor" plugin, this option doesn't exist in the classic editor.

This seems to work fine in both the classic editor plugin and the classic block when I tested.
