Lucas Wheeler is the widowed and abusive alcoholic father of Jake, and works at an auto repair shop.
Chucky: Season 1 (2021)[]
He comes home from work to see Jake working on his sculpture, and remarks that he should spend less time on his art as it is not a viable career. Before leaving his son's room, he mentions that his brother Logan and his family are coming over for dinner that night, which neither are excited for.
During dinner, he discusses his money troubles with his brother but refuses to get help from him. To change the subject, Bree talks about the successes of her son Junior, to which he makes a sly comment about Jake's sexuality. This conversation enrages Lucas, who smashes his drink glass on the ground. He tells them that Jake is 13 and doesn't know what he is yet, even though his son is 14. After Logan and his family leave, Jake goes outside to look for his cat. When he goes back inside, he finds Lucas destroying his sculpture with a baseball bat, and can do nothing but watch helplessly. Dropping the bat, he angrily yells at his son that he can no longer have dolls before exiting his room.
One night, Lucas receives a phone call from Jake's teacher that his son had been suspended because of his performance during the talent show. He becomes furious over him no longer having any friends and everyone thinking he is weird. Jake snaps back that he is only angry at everyone knowing his son is gay, resulting in Lucas striking him in the face. Holding Jake against the wall, he furiously retorts that if he ever says that he is gay again, he will kill him. Taking the Good Guy doll from Jake's hands, Lucas sends his son to his room. He returns to the couch to discover that his nearly full whiskey bottle is suddenly empty. Just then the power goes out, and he goes down into the basement to check the fuse box. He flips the switches until the power comes back on, and sees Chucky standing in front of him. He vomits the whiskey he had drank earlier at Lucas' bare feet, which touches an exposed electric cable and electrocutes him to death.
Chucky: Season 3 (2023)[]
When Chucky begins killing people in the White House, the building starts acting as a magnet drawing in other ghosts, including Lucas. Jake volunteers to go under temporary cardiac arrest to cross over into the Spirit Realm to search for Chucky's ghost. He is immediately confronted by Lucas, who is destroying his doll sculpture with a bat. He berates his son for how it felt to die by electrocution and that Jake always wanted him dead, and he responds he only felt that way after his father started hitting him. He claims he did it to correct his behavior, which Jake retorts that the only thing he did wrong was be gay. Taking a swing at Jake with his bat, Lucas tells him that he was ashamed of him. Jake explains that his father's actions made him ashamed of himself, but this all stopped when he met his boyfriend Devon. Angered, Lucas begins chasing after him with the bat, wishing to give his son a "punishment".
Running away, Jake ends up in the ballroom full of ghost couples dancing the waltz. Lucas catches up to him quickly, chastising him for thinking he can beat Chucky. He claims that Jake is not the hero, that he is weak and he will fail. When Jake says that his father never believed in him, Lucas tells him that he used to be proud of him, thinking he could have been the president one day. Jake responds that this was until his mother died and he began drinking. Grabbing a bottle of whiskey from a butler, Lucas chugs the alcohol before smashing it on the ground, claiming it was the only thing that kept him sane. Right as he starts to take a swing at his son, Jake shouts that he forgives him. He remarks that he knows Lucas was going through a lot, but he knows he was doing the best he could, and hugs his father. Returning Jake's embrace, he warns his son that he is still going to fail as Chucky is much more dangerous in the Spirit Realm.
