Ineffective and poor communication
My shipment of 7 boxes and 2 luggage were picked up on 26 Jun and delivered only yesterday on 24 Jul. Exactly 4 weeks!
This company is ineffective and its communication leaves a lot to be desired!! The glaring disappointments are,
1. Being sent a link to make custom fee payment for a shipment that wasn't mine. And then being informed that the same shipment has arrived and been signed for. After several emails and chats that went nowhere, I realized from looking at the FedEx tracking number that they have linked my booking reference with the wrong tracking number! From that point on, I relied only on the FedEx tracking website for updates. And l saw that the delivery of my shipment has been rescheduled, which brings me to point 2.
2. Updates about the the delay weren't proactive at all. What's worse is, they couldn't tell me what was causing the delay. In the end, l decided to visit, in person, the FedEx location where my shipment was withheld, who advised that I write to the local FedEx customs/clearance team.
3. Emailing directly with FedEx customs/clearance team produced initial result. They responded by asking for the same document (inventory list) that I had already provided Sherpr. They also asked for proof of residency. After submitting these documents, I heard nothing again. Sherpr weren't able to elicit a response from them either.
4. More days later, with the help of a Dutch speaking friend, we called the Dutch FedEx client service. We were then advised to take a different approach. So l emailed the FedEx customs/clearance team accordingly. The next day, I saw from the FedEx tracking website that my shipment has been cleared and will be delivered. In essence, Sherpr hadn't been effective in problem resolution.
I wouldn't recommend using Sherpr (or Luggage Buddy, it is the same company) . Unless you are certain there won't be any issues with customs!
