Conrad Leto 「コンラート・レト Konrāto Reto」[2] is the 27th Wizard King of the Clover Kingdom's Magic Knights[3] and the former captain of the White Serpent squad.[4]
Appearance[]
Conrad is a tall man with messy black hair and a green patch on the right side of his head.
Conrad wears a high-collared, lined shirt under a dark grey jacket that is lined with green scrollwork. The jacket is held closed by a red fabric belt. Around his chest and waist are five gold strands of keys. He also wears a pair of dark grey pants and black boots. The boots are trimmed with red and have four gold, diamond-shaped ornaments on the shins. Over all this, he wears a long, dark grey cape trimmed with white fur, as well as a white fur mantle with red tassels hanging down in front. The cape and mantle are held together by a gold chain.

Personality[]
He was an idealistic egalitarian who shared the same vision of the perfect world as Asta, one where nobody would be treated as inferior because they lacked magic and where everyone could get along peacefully. However, his overwhelming sorrow and need for retribution towards those who killed his beloved and betrayed him impaired his judgment. Consequently, he plotted the catastrophic destruction of the Clover Kingdom, with the intention of trapping the souls of its citizens within the Sword of the First Wizard King in order to resurrect those he deemed worthy of his new peaceful world. In battle, he shows a level of resilience and determination similar to Asta's, to which he can relate.
Biography[]
As predecessor of Julius Novachrono, Conrad Leto was respected and loved by the citizens of the Clover Kingdom until he suddenly rebelled against his nation.[5] It is said that Conrad was born into a noble family, however due to his magic's unique ability to steal magic and unlock anything with his keys, he was ostracized for having thief-like magic by those around him, leading to a lonely childhood. To make matters worse, he was young and his control over his magic was too weak, making it harder to be recognized as anything less than a weakling that lacked any real magic.
As he grew older, Conrad worked hard to gain more control over his magic and eventually he found the true strength and value of his magic, causing people to fear him and recognize him as a potential threat. This lead to the gap between him and those surrounding him to slowly widen, as they never truely came to an understanding. This disheartened Conrad, yet he continued to better himself and became a Magic Knight, eventually meeting Julius Novachrono and a young woman from the forsaken realm, Lovilia. Meeting these two began to open Conrad up more to those around him, as he became more trusting and began earning more achievements within the magic knights, eventually becoming the captain of his own squad, the White Serpent, with Lovilia becoming his Vice-Captain, and later his wife.
His achievements would later become recognized by everyone in the kingdom, and he was then crowned as the 27th Wizard King, finally earning respect from those who had previously shunned him. This, however, would not last as one day a mission that was tasked for his squad was revealed to be a trap orchestrated by a faction of royals that hated him. This resulted in the deaths of not only his squad, but his wife as well, which devastated Conrad. Realizing that he was living a lie and thinking that the Kingdom he loved was corrupt beyond his control, a distraught and angry Conrad decided to take matters into his own hands and fix the corruption by building a new country without the prejudice and discrimination he faced during his childhood.
He tried and failed to fix these issues during his reign as the Wizard King, as the royals, nobles, and politicians continued to ruin Conrads' dream of changing society. Conrad's resentments lead to him to the conclusion that the only way to truly change the country, was to rebuild it. As he immersed himself in research of ancient magics and tools, he eventually stole the national treasure of the kingdom, Elsdocia and began to plan a rebellion.
This plan was cut short however, as 10 years ago, he fought Julius in an attempt to use the First Wizard King's Sword to destroy the entire kingdom during his rebellion, but was sealed away by Julius' Time Magic along with the Sword, in order stop him. After this, he was locked away and his death was faked and announced to the whole kingdom, and a couple of years later Julius was crowned as his successor, becoming the 28th Wizard King. After Elf Patolli killed Julius, the seal disappeared leading to Conrad's comeback after so many years of being trapped, along with reviving 3 previous Wizard Kings: Princia Funnybunny, Jester Garandros, and Edward Avalaché to assist him.

Magic[]
- Key Magic: Conrad uses this magic attribute to create keys that are able to open and close magical rifts. With it, Conrad is capable of storing magic, grimoires, and magic tools' power within the space behind the rifts' doors. It appears that his magic is closely compatible with the sword of the first wizard king.[6]
Abilities[]
- Immense Magic Power: As the former Wizard King and formerly one of the strongest Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom, Conrad possesses an immense amount of magic power. He could combine the various magic he stored with his magic into himself to obtain a new magical form for combat.
- Master Swordsman: Conrad has been shown to be a very skilled swordsman, such as creating a sword out of magic and clashing evenly with Asta (who is also an expert swordsman), even parrying many of his attacks at one point.
- Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Even without his magic, Conrad was a highly skilled martial opponent, able to easily disable Asta before he could respond in moments.
Equipment[]
- Elsdocia: A magic sword created by Lemiel Silvamillion Clover, it can absorb, store, and release magic power. It has been passed down the line of Wizard Kings and contains pieces of their souls and magic and is the key for Conrad's plan to destroy the Clover Kingdom. With his Key Magic, Conrad is able to access these souls and magic in order to revive some of his deceased predecessors.[6]
