I don't know... I mean it kinda ruins the point of having to mine to get materials.
And BTW... why are people asking what you would trade... isn't it obvious that you could trade anything??? Maybe someone could tell me why i'm the only one here who seems to think that it's obvious.
If this was introduced, it would NEED a way for Admins to control trade somehow.
Personally I want to aprove any exterior trades before my players can do them, otherwise you'd get this:
Player 1 wants some Diamonds, so talks to his friend player 2. Player 2 plays a freebuild server and has item spawn access, so spawns 500 diamonds, and trades them with Player 1 for 1 piece of dirt. Player 1 then has 500 Diamonds on my server, which destroys our whole economic system
As long as theirs either admin trade approval (just queue them up if admin is offline, then if the player is offline when admin approves, the players player.dat is updated) or just a way to disable trade on your server its alright.
I'm a bit confused about what you mean about loading the map though, do you mean each server player has the map saved locally, and only has to download the updates each login? I always thought that would be a good idea, it'd free up a LOT of server ram and it would run a lot smoother, BUT you'd get those silly players who can then grief very easily. They'd open the world on their single player client, and all the server-side mods are removed, AND they have access to their own mods. Player 1 wouldn't need his friends, he could spawn his own diamonds, put em in a chest and then upload it back to the server.
Or burn down a town, if thats what he prefers...

The trade wouldnt work for online servers. That would be stupid, it would be for offline or between 2 friends playing together.
Friends playing together could be like when you invite a friend to play with you in shooter games, the invited player enters a temp server created by the one who invited.
Though i'm not able to play online yet i the idea and will gladly support this, the world ranking idea however is not to my liking though maybe having it linked to the upcomming achievments?
[*:1lqhrwjc]Trading should be totally within the same server, and should not be between servers, otherwise it can definitely be exploited.
[*:1lqhrwjc]"World Rank" seems meaningless?
[*:1lqhrwjc]Three buttons with A, C, X would be too confusing. I suggest the following:
[*:1lqhrwjc]Use text or icons instead. Single letters with colors would be confusing for most people, especially people who are using the system for the first time.
[*:1lqhrwjc]Rearrange them to the bottom, perhaps. Having buttons in the center seems to be an odd choice for UI design.
[*:1lqhrwjc]Perhaps make the button to clear your own inventory next to your inventory, to make the association that this is "clear your inventory" a bit stronger.

When all is said and done, Will you have said more than you have done?
I hate how people MS Paint a terrible idea and post it up expecting for it to be implemented. You do not need no chat box for it, there are a million of those already. Same for friends. Trading is plain out stupid as you can INVedit things in on SSP or just drop your items on SMP. I know I am going to be cried at but that is my opinion. I am not looking at this again so don't bother replying. And instead of crying about how it is not being implemented, posting polls like "We want more gay-ass-**** on minecraft", here is an idea. Stick with me. How about, you do it yourselves? :ohmy.gif: Oh my goodness why have we not thought of that before :ohmy.gif:.

True Minecrafters have been playing since before Beta.
I'm sure someone has already said this but I'll just say it again because I can't be troubled to read through all those pages and the first post still has the ideas I think are ridiculous on it so I know know one has convinced you to change them, Rose.
Firstly, I think the world rank thing is just stupid beyond all means. What the heck is it for? Seriously? If this were a game that revolved around a certain type of competition like League of Legends or Starcraft 2 I could understand wanting world rank, but this is Minecraft, the open ended sand box game. Not only is there nothing to base the world rank on but I think it goes against the spirit of Minecraft. People create the best things in an environment with unconditional positive regard. I feel like if there is a world rank there would be a lot of "Oh, my rank is higher than yours, you must suck, you noob." The way it is now is that you don't know how good people are at creating things so you assume either that they are good or bad based on what judgments you make about them, I feel like adding a world rank would just add a lot of negativity and people just trying to increase their rank in cheap ways.
The trading thing is also just dumb, quite frankly; I really don't see the point or fun of it and I kind of think it takes away from the game. I like the idea of trading in-server between two people who are in close proximity but I don't like the idea of trading between servers or server to single player (from what I did read I know that you actually are too.) Inner server trading would be nice if you wanted to hand someone something and some trollish noob was trying to pick it up.
That's all I really have to say about this Idea. I absolutely love the whole "add friend, join their server" thing because it's pretty much standard in most games but Minecraft doesn't have it yet. I remember watching or reading something where Notch said that he wanted to implement server history and friends but hadn't got around to it yet, so let's keep our fingers crossed that it'll be sooner rather than later!
Abandoning this account....I used to spend way too much time trolling here....If you see a user around named yyujimgirl445, that's me...until then peace.

Trade: Weeeelll, I guess. But i'd rather have it only when in someone else's world because of there being an inventory for the person visiting your world and for you, so it'd be simpler.
Going to other singleplayer worlds: YES >:ohmy.gif: OH MY YES!! THIS WOULD BE AWESOME!! I get so lonely with only my saddled pigs to keep me company.
World Rank: Uhhh... I don't really see the point actually.

there's mods in servers that allow that, and soon notch is adding stats and achievements.
EDIT: especially the nickname feature, and name color change, I could finally be MethKnight :smile.gif:
