The season's main slogan is Wrecked with a theme around the apocalyptic wasteland and custom vehicles. It also includes crossover content from the Fallout franchise.
Previously, in Fortnite[]
In Chapter 5 Season 1, Pandora's Box was opened by Valeria which unleashed the souls of The Underworld to the Island. In Chapter 5 Season 2, The Pantheon arrived on the Island and, after Zeus resealed the evil souls of The Underworld away, Zeus decided to kill all mortals. The Oracle, The Looper, Aphrodite, Artemis, Apollo, Poseidon, Medusa, Hope, and Jones fought against the gods, finally defeating Zeus once and for all. Then Zeus, in a last desperate act, made the statue at Mount Olympus strike Pandora's Box three times to unleash The Wanderer from within, creating a huge sandstorm that engulfed the southern part of the Island and brought the Wasteland Warriors with it.
How did it start?[]
The Wasteland Warriors' top officers consist of Ringmaster Scarr, The Machinist, and Megalo Don, who is the leader of the team. Hope and Vengeance Jones enlist the help of The Looper to fight against Megalo Don and his Wasteland Warriors.
Storyline[]
Megalo Don, attracted to the power of Pandora's Box, has conquered the southern part of the Island and he plans to take over the entirety of Helios once his ship, the Leviathan, is refueled by Nitro which is a substance that affects players and vehicles and was also the substance that was leaking out of Pandora's Box in the Sandstorm Event. He then asked The Machinist to build a Nitro refinery (Redline Rig) to build a pipeline connected to the Leviathan ship in order to refuel it with Nitro. He also has taken all the Nitro for himself and some wastelanders (Rust, Ruckus, Brite Raider, etc.) have opposed him for this. Also, a mysterious hooded figure can be found in a form of graffiti and on a loading screen, most likely being The Wanderer, who The Oracle warned us about at the end of Chapter 5: Season 2 Story Quests.
In Part 1 of Story Quests, "Welcome to the Wasteland", Hope and Jones introduce The Looper to the Wasteland. Hope says that Megalo Don might be strong enough to take over the Island and has The Looper test out features (Nitro, Vehicle Mods ,etc) of the wasteland. At the end of Part 1 of Story Quests, Hope reveals that from the surveillance devices they put at Wasteland locations, she's heard some bad rumors and hopes that it's just chatter.
In Part 2, "Raiding the Rig", Hope sends The Looper to speak with Rust and Brite Raider to investigate rumors about Megalo Don's plan. Both of the two say that Megalo Don is planning something very secretive and that more information could be found at Redline Rig. After taking out one of the guards and using their keycard to upload data to Hope, Jones tells that The Machinist is Megalo Don's only competent engineer and she is splitting her time between building the pipeline and defending the refinery from intruders. Jones tasks The Looper to sabotage Megalo Don's ship. With that complete, Hope contacts The Looper, saying that Pandora's Box is still there, and asks to steal one of Pandora's Box's gems from Brutal Beachhead. Jones disagrees with Hope, saying that she shouldn't be so obsessed with Pandora's Box as he was obsessed with the Zero Point to not lose everything as he lost, but she doesn't take his advice. At the end of Part 2 of Story Quests, The Looper brings the Pandora Gem to Hope. After taking it, she tells that her head started pounding.
Meanwhile, the Island's inhabitants see a hooded figure watching them from the distance. In one of Megalo Don's transmissions on the radio he confirms that this person is The Wanderer and that they are working together. He says to not try to see The Wanderer's face as their puny minds could not comprehend it and that not even Megalo Don has seen his face. There are also mini Rift Beacons on the map that are trying to scan for The Zero Point and Backbone, Power Chord, Riot, and Ruckus founded a faction named Chiara's Chums and they have all collectively agreed on Chiara, who has yet to accept, being their leader.
In Part 3, "Enter the Nitrodrome", Hope contacts The Looper again, saying that she found a second Pandora Gem at the Nitrodrome owned by Ringmaster Scarr. Scarr agrees to trade the gem in exchange for The Looper doing a magnificent stunt. After that is done Hope tells The Looper to retrieve and give her the gem. At the end of Part 3 of Story Quests, The Looper gives Hope the gem. Hope says that from her intel there are two Pandora Gems left to retrieve. Hope then tells The Looper that the gems show her visions, with one of those visions being of Megalo Don working with The Wanderer. She then tells the Looper to be aware of a person in weather-inappropriate robes.
Meanwhile, Magneto arrives on the Island, breaking open the bunker near the Zenith Wall, which turns out to be the Weapon-X Secret Laboratory. In his dialogue, Magneto says that he has also seen The Wanderer and he describes them as an impending evil. In his quests he also tells us to configure three Rift Beacons around the map.
In Part 4, "Pea Bois Inc", Jones and Hope contact The Looper again, saying that the owner of the next Pandora Gem is Peabody, who, according to Jones' watchings, is not hostile. So Hope and Jones ask The Looper to talk to Peabody at Pea Bois HQ. He agrees to trade the gem for doing a few things for him. After helping propagate Peabody's Pea Buddies and testing tire bounciness, Peabody tasks The Looper to help his auto technician in training, Dummy, as a final request to get the gem. Dummy asks to collect some car parts since he can't work well because of the heat melting his plastic. With that complete, The Looper trades car parts to Peabody to receive the Pandora Gem. After doing so, Hope contacts them again, saying that there's just one gem left and it's with Megalo Don. At the end of Part 4 of Story Quests, The Looper gives Hope the gem. She says that her headache is stronger this time and she needs to relax, maybe paint something.
In Part 5, "The Great Leviathan Heist", Hope and Jones contact The Looper again, saying that the pipeline is almost finished and they need to get the last Pandora Gem quickly. After talking to Peabody, who reveals that the gem is in one of Megalo Don's caches across the Island, Jones and Hope ask The Looper to find the cache containing the last Pandora Gem. The Looper than proceeds to destroy objects at wasteland locations, eliminate wasteland guards, blow up vehicles, and damage players with vehicle weapons, bumpers, or Nitro Fists to find the gem. The Looper than managed to get a map, which shows the location of the Pandora Gem, from Megalo Don. Throughout all this Hope has more headaches from the gems. The Looper than obtains the final Pandora Gem from Megalo Don's hidden cache. At the end of Part 5 of Story Quests, The Looper gives the gem to Hope. All four Pandora Gems are put into the gem holder and The Oracle appears before Hope. The Oracle then says to Hope that they have a lot of talking to do.
